Throughout the following few weeks Charles spent less time with Nicole and more time trying to grow closer to Liliana so maybe Nikolai and Stephan would leave . Yet that grew to be hard , they were both determined to achieve a wedding date.
Charles sat on his throne with Liliana right besides him as he listened to peasants complain.
Of course Nikolai and Stephan were front and center listening to every word with suspicion.

When the last man had finished Catherine joined Charles side .
Flash back
"Charles you must make a date " Catherine pressed " and why should I" Charles said unbothered ." Because the longer you wait the more likely Poland will attack and we need them , we need their power we-"" no mother you want their power , I wouldn't mind the blood shed " Charles interrupted. " Just set a date so those polish bastards get out of this court" Charles nodded " alright, how does the 28th of January sound does that make you happy finally" Catherine nodded .

Back to present

Catherine stood front and center now " my Lord's and ladies your majesties " Catherine began , nodding her head to Nikolai and Stephan. " My son and I have made a decision " Charles quickly stood and held his hand out for Liliana who quickly accepted and stood besides the king.
Liliana scanned the room and noticed Henri lurking in a corner staring at Lilianas hand in hand with his brothers.

" That the king shall be wed to the princess of Poland on the 28th of January" Catherine happily announced , Liliana watched as Henri's face fell . She felt her heart pain and slightly break..

Her uncle and brother clapped happily as well. Nikolai walked up to hug his sister " now we must write to father and make our way back towards Poland" Stephan announced.
Charles face lit up with joy and happiness, Liliana faked her smile.  She knew her heart broke when Henri walked out with his head down.
