"Happy 30th birthday papa!" the little boy greets Banchan while waving the banner he had made for him earlier that day. Bangchan picks him up giving him a tight hug before blowing the candle of the cake on the table. It had been 8 years since he had left Korea and a lot had changed. He became a well-known producer working with big names in the industry. Even branching out to make his own brand of ear-in monitors. He had achieved everything he had planned and much more. Or did he really?

"Where is your mom?" Bangchan asks the little guy placing him on his seat.

"She has work tonight and she'll come home late." The boy answers before taking a spoon full of the cake slice Chan had given him.

"Oh, you're home I didn't notice you coming in. Happy birthday, brother!" Luke, Chan's younger brother greets him and hands him his present. Luke is 23 and is currently taking his master's degree. He lives in a dorm but came early to take care of Luan since the little boy's mom needed to leave for work.

"Mom and Dad will be here soon. They said they're finishing up the food they cooked for you." Luke says and sits down beside the little boy.

"They could have cooked here instead, we don't mind," Bangchan replies placing Luke's gift on the table.

"Luan please don't finish the whole slice, you need to save some room for dinner. Your mommy will get mad at me." Bangchan tells the kid and being the obedient little boy he is. He nods and puts down the spoon.

Luan Bang, is the name of the little boy who greeted Bangchan as he came home from work. The kid is 4 years old and will enter kindy (kindergarden) this year. He loves cats and playing the piano. Not to mention he also enjoys dancing. Bangchan was the one who named him, he said that the name he gave holds a special meaning. Because Luan meant Moon in Portuguese. And the moon was something he held dearly to his heart.

"We're here!" Bangchan's mom shouts from the front door. They walked to the dining area and place down the food they brought on the table. The two siblings greeted their parents with a hug, while the little boy gave them a kiss on the cheek.

"Where's Ana? isn't she going to join us?" Bangchan's Dad asked Chan as he took a seat.

"Ana is working the night shift today. So, she wouldn't be able to join us." Bangchan replies as he too took a seat.

"You need to tell her to stay home once Luan actually starts kindy." Bangchan's mom says and Chan nods. The work arrangements were something they have agreed upon after Ana gave birth. Since she still wants to provide for the family. Though she doesn't need to, Chan lets her do what she wants. The arrangement was that If Chan works in the day, Ana would work at night then vice versa. So that someone would look after Luan. They didn't want to get a nanny or send him to daycare because they still wanted to be able to form a bond with him. While being able to provide for his needs.

As the night fell, they cleaned up and said their goodbyes. Lucas was off to his dorm and their parents went back to their house. At this point, Bangchan was left to do his parental duties. He gave Luan a bath, made sure he drank his milk and brushed his teeth. Before going to bed Chan would give the little boy a music box. This music box was given to him 8 years ago. And as instructed he opened it as soon as he landed in Sydney. The first time he played it he remembered what the song is.  A song he heard prior to the music box being given. Turning Page by Sleeping at Last, is the title of the said song. He would hear it being played at the late hours of the night in his old condominium. He remembers the thesis papers all over the table. Along with the smell of ramen and the humming which filled the air as soon as the song started. Bangchan played this for Luan ever since he was conceived. As soon as the boy knew how to turn the lever Chan let him be the one to play it every night.

"Papa, why do you like this song?" Luan asks, it was the first time the kid had asked this question. Bangchan smiles at him as he held the boy in his arms.

"The song reminds me of the old times." He responds, for it really does bring him back to all the good memories he had. Especially of those he had in college.

"But why this song papa?" Luan asks again which got Chan thinking. He actually never knew why out of all the songs that could have been placed in the music box it would be this song. And also the reason why it was always played while he was doing school works.

"I honestly don't know why, maybe we would find out someday." Bangchan answers. The little boy nodded and proceeds to keep turning the lever so the song would play again. Seeing Luan enjoy the music always made Chan happy. But with this happiness comes longing and pain for he couldn't achieve what the lyrics of the song say. To be able to be with the person you love.

When the child was sleepy Bangchan took the box and laid him on one side of the bed. He gave the kid his favourite cat stuffy then gave him a kiss on the forehead. Afterwhich Chan stood up to place the music box on the bookshelf when he notice a small compartment under the box. He flips the box upside down and slid the bottom piece to the side. It had a note which was kept there for years. He took the letter out and opened it, reading each word softly making sure not to wake Luan up.

"This song is one of my favourites, as long as you have this you will always have a piece of me. Sending you a lot of love to where ever you may be, your moon  — Minho"

Tears rush down from his eyes, he misses him. All the feels he had tried to store away all come out upon reading his name again. Minho, the name of the man he loved from then until now. As selfish as it may seem, he had never forgotten him. For his heart had and will always belong to him.

"I wonder what you're up to now, but hopefully you're happy. It's been 8 years moon, we have already lost contact but I still love you. What should I do to forget what I feel? My heart still wants to hold on to our promise of seeing each other again. But when will that be?" Bangchan says looking at the letter in his hands. Both stop talking to each other a year after they moved apart. It was due to the busy schedules and because Luan was brought into the picture.

All this time Bangchan tried to forget about him, he wanted to be mad at him for slipping away. But at the same time, he couldn't. Especially when Luan grew up he had similar attitudes and likings with Minho. Both like cats, both were into dancing and one outstanding trait is that both knew how to compose themselves and hide their feelings. Despite Luan being 4 years old. He knows how to control his emotions and is very well mannered. How could he forget him if the child that he is raising is a complete parallel of the person he loves.

"I want to see you again," Chan says under his breath. with puffy red eyes and dampen cheeks. He looks at the window wishing he could turn back time. To when he was still with him, to when he still had him, to when he was still there. But if the person from his past does come back, where will the people in his present place themselves in his life?

The consequences of the thoughts that were never placed into action, hurt more than the outcome of the actions which were prompted from the decision to do so.
