952 days since the first key was found...
I was standing in the armory room chatting with Matthias, Woods and Sam getting prepared for the stakeout and catching up with everyone that would watch the video. I adjusted my mask on my chin as I was providing my thoughts on the situation. We went over our basic idea of a plan before getting our equipment before heading outside to the van and loading in. I sat beside Sam, bouncing my knee still nervous about what was happening. We parked the van so we could see most of the bases as we indulged in our snacks. I was thinking about the worst case scenario, what could happen if we come face to face with this male and it made it worse.
After some talking we helped Woods get on top of the building speculating that the person could show up anytime. I was really nervous about Woods going up there but knew it would work out. We headed back out to the front, waiting for him to show up. "Are you nervous?" Matt asked looking at me in the rearview mirror "Uh yea, actually more nervous than I should be" I chuckled rubbing my hands on my pants. We chatted to Woods on the Walkie Talkie for a bit then just sat and waited. When woods talked then cut out my heart dropped. But when he came back through I felt calm.
When I heard Woods come through the mic "He's here" I jumped in my seat and put on my seatbelt. Then he began to not respond as we came around the corner seeing a man walking in the parking lot. The male stopped for a second and booked it the other direction. Sam was still trying to get in contact with Woods as I sat there not knowing what to do. We went around the building not being able to find the guy. I ran a hand through my hair as we had lost him and lost contact with Woods. We told Woods to come down then parked the car, seeing the open garage where the mountaineer was. Sam opened the door and both me and CJ jumped out. We looked inside of the garage seeing that the Mountaineer was gone. All I could get out of my mouth was "How did all of this just happen! We were right here!"
