Alora looked up in time to hear her father introducing her to the man in front
"Alora meet Alexander Ranelwood. Alexander meet my youngest daughter Alora Carrington."Alora took a better look at him and noticed the sharp features cast on his face with the muscular shape of his arms and mid stomach.
It was safe to say both participants had gave each other a once over, she was broken out of her trance when he cleared his throat and began to speak"Hello Miss Carrington it's nice to meet you"
His deep voice was gruff and held a strong allure to it. She was never one for formalities but considering he was the one who started it she chose to play the same game"The pleasure is all mine Mr Ranelwood"
Alexander swore his heart skipped a beat at the way she said his nameTheir stare off was interrupted by Blake who was content with the looks the pair seemed to be sharing
"Alora, Alexander is the heir to Ranelwood industries and will be taking charge after his father and they needed one of the best lawyers and I thought who better than you to help them"
"That is of course if you won't mind Miss Carrington" spoke Alexander with a charming smile on his face which would make most girls swoon
"Of course not Mr Ranelwood"
Alora could see that her father was needed somewhere so she looked up to see Crystal and silently asked her if she needed her help to.After Blake left it was just Alora and Alex, before she could leave Alex grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.
"Join me for dinner" spoke Alexander with confidence, noticing Alora's hesitation he interrupted her inner debate
"Take a chance Alora, you only live once."Alora didn't know what to think of this man. She was attracted to him sure but all she knew was he was some business partner of her fathers that she would have to work with. Just as she was about to deny his offer she thought about the last time she had ever done anything for fun, or ever let go of her professional demeanour.
The thought swarmed her in sadness because no matter how hard she tried she couldn't remember the last time she had been genuinely happy, so without thinking Alora answered
"Sure!"Alexander was surprised by her reaction as he had heard she was the uptight Carrington but perhaps there was just a woman who was normal behind the mask of perfection and that made him want to know more about her, more than he should of wanted to know.
"I'll let your secretary know the details, take care Alora" He gave her a charming smile whilst bending down a pressing a chaste kiss to her knuckles that made Alora's stomach do weird flips, before turning around and leaving her in her own thoughts.
Who said chivalry was dead? thought Alora after Alex had taken his leave.
Alora walked up to her father and sister in time to hear them having a tense conversation that she could tell her Father was not please with at all, she saw rage seep through Blake's mask of indifference and intervened
"What's going on here?" Questions Alora, her presence made both Blake and Fallon look up and before Fallon had the chance to say anything Blake had already spoken up
"Fallon has stolen my company my name"Fallon offended by her fathers description of what happened corrected him
"Actually it's my name, and your new competition." Stated Fallon with a confident smile whilst turning around and leavingAlora was about to follow her before she was stopped by her father
"Alora I want you to sue your sister and Jeff's company." Ordered Blake and Alora was about to object but stopped upon her father continuing
"Your a lawyer for Carrington Atlantic and you will protect them alone not Fallon"She knew her father was right, what Fallon was doing was wrong and if she wanted to actually get real experience she would need this job and she would have to do it.
"I'll get to it"
Alora had just finished drafting up the contract and had dropped it off with her a father, she couldn't help but feel guilty because her sister would be beyond upset about this. Alora walked down the stairs and caught the eyes of Jeff who called her over, standing next to him was her sister Fallon who looked as if she couldn't be bothered with this conversation. Alora walked up to them in time to see Jeff look towards Culhane
"Can I get another bourbon on the rocks, please"Alora could see Culhane was upset with Jeff and Fallons interaction and it only got worse when Fallon replied
"Um... this is Michael Culhane, He's the Chauffeur"Alora noticing the hurt on his eyes from Fallons words quickly spoke up
"And a really good friend of mine!" Exclaimed Alora which brought both Jeff and Fallons attention towards her again, Culhane was grateful that she took the attention of him and knew it was intentional so he sent her a warm smile whilst silently thanking her."Guys I think I'm going to head up early and I hope I'll see you soon Jeff it was lovely seeing you again" spoke Alora whilst reaching up and giving Jeff a kiss on his cheek.
"You too Alora" muttered Jeff slightly confused by the girls actions.
Alora made her way outside to say goodbye to her Father and Crystal as the two were leaving for their honeymoon and got down in time to see a car speed past her, the same car which would of ran in to her if Blake hadn't pulled her back. The car came to a sudden step and Alora saw a blonde women who she couldn't recognise walk out of the car
"He tried to quit, and you sent him to that place.
It was no accident.
You killed my husband!"
Screamed the women with hate seeping through her words
