He Was A God, and I Was His Goddess

In The Beginning..

"Make the devil weep" Edward said. Twisty looked up at him, his evil stare had leveled down to a child. "It was 19 years ago" he slowly began.
"The show had just ended, people were leaving while I was cleaning up. I looked around and saw a couple holding a baby wrapped up in a blanket. They stayed their for a few minutes. I continued to mind my business and clean. I looked back once I heard the cries of the child. But saw no one." Twisty's voice became full of excitement as he continued.
"I walked around following the cries and it led me to the baby. I took the baby in my arms and ran out the tent searching for the parents. But I was too late. As I held the baby, I realized the baby was a girl! She had stopped crying. Her face was porcelain white, she looked delicate as a flower, her eyes sparkled light brown. She looked like a doll! However, she was wrapped weirdly in the blanket. As I took the blanket off, her legs were up against her body, behind her head. I knew she was special. She was one of us. "
Jimmy remained on the floor as he was tied up by Twisty's other clown companion. He had heard this story before.
"I was so excited to have a baby with us! But no one wanted to take care of her with me... So I decided to take her in as my own. I named her Penelope. But called her Poppy. As she grew up, I realized her talent. She had incredible flexibility. She followed everything I did, the learned how to blow balloons, tell funny jokes and play with the other kids." Twisty's smile faded a bit.
"She was perfect. But one day she fell, and she has cracked, like a China doll. Flexibility was not just her talent, she was also a doll, living doll. One day the midgets had said I was doing stuff to the kids, they told me that the cops were looking for me. So I ran away with Penelope. We had to start all over, at a new Freakshow. But no one gave us attention. The police had found out about the false accusations and had taken Penelope away from me.." Twisty began to cry, he could barely continue.
"They sent my Penelope to an orphanage. I tried looking for her but I couldn't find her. I tried saving other kids from horrible mean people. I gave them candy and toys! They even had a pretty babysitter"

Jimmy had managed to escape and help Esmeralda up they ran back trying to find the other clown. He could not get the story out of his head. Twisty was Penelope's dad...

Edward looked at Twisty. "They were innocent. Your child was innocent. She is innocent. You have made the devil weep." Twisty cried more. He knew it was his time as the ghosts of freaks popped up. All he wanted was to see Penelope one last time.

Jimmy held Esmeralda's wrist as they ran towards the abandoned caravan. They began to open the door when the leaves shook from the bushes. Jimmy held Esmeralda behind him. Out came Penelope, she ran toward Jimmy.
"Poppy what are you-"
"I needed to know you were safe! I heard the screaming.." Penelope replied
"You can't be here go back home!" Jimmy said pointing with his claws.
"No! I'm not going without you" as she said that she saw the green smoke and light come from a far. Her curiosity got the best of her. Jimmy grabbed her.
"Don't go over there!" He said holding her waist tight.
"Jimmy someone might be in trouble!" She said struggling.
"No! Someone summoned Edward Mortdrake, he's there with a clown" Esmeralda said. Jimmy and Penelope looked at her.
"Clown?"
"No!" Jimmy said as she had managed to spring out of his grip. He watched her dark curly hair fly in the wind as she ran towards the smoke.
"Come one we gotta go" Jimmy said grabbing Esmeralda wrist again.
"No! Why do we have to?" Esmeralda said feeling a bit jealous that he wanted to chase after Penelope.
"Poppy is family. Come on!" He said pulling her with force running behind Penelope.

Penelope stopped as she had reached the destination. She caught a glimpse of Edward as she ran toward the clown kneeling down.
She ran passed the ghosts, and caught her heart as she grasped onto Twisty. Twisty snapped back to earth and realized what was happening. His daughter Penelope was in front of him.
"Daddy?" She said. He got up wrapped his arms around her as this hug was long awaited. Jimmy and Esmeralda got there but arrived late. They watched from a far. Jimmy thought and thought and thought. He knew that something would happen to Penelope.

"My sweet Penelope" Twisty said she he held her tight. He let go enough to look at her face. Her eyes glistened with tears, falling onto her clown makeup. Her porcelain face was smooth, he thought as he touched her cheek. Penelope looked past her open gross mouth, he looked perfect to her. Edward gave them a moment but then, shoved the knife into Twisty. He gasped. Penelope looked at him, and realized what had happened. She watched in horror as twisty fell back, she fell with him, ripping the tool around the skirt of her dress and her stockings.
"I love you Penelope, my daughter" Twisty said struggling.
"I love you too daddy" Penelope said, sobbing.
Jimmy and Esmeralda watched horrified.
"I'm so proud of you" he finally said taking his last breathe. Penelope stood their for a moment, holding on to his words before crying out. Holding onto his hand. Jimmy came over and sat down next to her, comforting her by placing a hand on her back. Esmeralda stood by, as walked over, she noticed a tall figure standing by all of them, standing behind the trees watching. His eyes filled with tears.
"We gotta go Penelope" she shook her head she didn't want to leave.
"We have too! We can't be here-"
"Look what we have here" Dandy said behind his mask. Jimmy pushes Esmeralda near Penelope.
"Take her now. Leave. Go home" Jimmy ordered. Esmeralda struggled to get Penelope up but managed. They started to jog away, Penelope looked back once more, this time connecting eyes with Dandy, who's eyes stood behind the mask. Dandy's heart skipped a beat. As he had watched what happened her her and Twisty. His eyes still wet from the tears. Jimmy took advantage of the time hit Dandy with one of the logs, making him fall and loose his knife into the darkness, Jimmy ran away catching up to Esmeralda and Poppy. Dandy laid their for a minute. He took off his mask. His eyes produced more tears. "YOU RUINED MY HALLOWEEN, I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU"
