Liar

First day you lie,
It passes by me.
Truth is told,
Here and there.
But I always think.

Weeks later,
You lie a second time.
I watch you carefully,
Seeing how I would ever know,
The real truth. The real you.

A year later,
I see the truth.
The you I've always wanted.
And I don't agree.
You lied to me.

The lies hurt.
The lies scarred.
I changed because of you.
To optimistic,
To pessimistic.

Soon the lies change,
To things I can't stand for.
My love for you falls.
And we slowly distant.
As I don't agree with you.

I leave you,
My love,
My friend.
But then there are others,
That i soon call my best friends.

My new crowd.
My new kind.
My new loves.
My new friends.
My new family.

But you are still there,
In the back of my mind.
For my spirit can not let go,
Of the old,
It can only open up to the new.

As my loves expand,
The list increases.
New becomes old.
The old reach the bottom of the list.
The bottom soon vanish.

Top of the list is fresh.
The fresh are labeled as best friends.
Only the best stay at the top.
As I age, my taste changes.
I keep on moving on.

But you were the liar.
Liars never stay.
Liars fall to the bottom.
You reach the end too.
And that's the last I will ever think of you.
