That was a lot to take in, I was in pure shock. I didn't see that coming.

"Kill Prince Oliver." It kept replaying in my mind.

I mean, this is what I wanted, back when my parents died I knew that it was the Royal family that sent those guards, so the only way I could ruin them was to kill their only eligible heir.

Also I need to find my brother. All I know about him is that he works in the Palace, so this is my big chance. I can't let it go, but somehow I just feel weird about it, like is this really happening?

The next hour or two is a blur, manager Ty tells me about all the names of the Royal family, and the other four Kingdoms that where going to attend the coronation. The amount of Princes that are coming are enough for them to start a group with.

After I'm prepped, I head for the dining area, on my way I meet up with Kane. He keeps chatting about random stuff, and doesn't even mention the mission once.

We go into the Dining area, take our food and find a place to sit.

"Kane, aren't you nervous about the mission? " I whisper. Not wanting others around us to find out.

"Not really. I mean, I'm going to do my best and I can trust you will too. Worrying won't help us so I'm not really thinking that much about it."

"Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't worry about it. " I say. But I'm still thinking about it the whole dinner. He changes the subject and then Vanessa comes to join us.
After cleaning up my dishes I head for the showers. Once in, I turn the water on full blast and just stand there for a few minutes, thinking about so many things.

After I'm done and am at my room I go straight to bed. But the whole night is filled with tossing and turning, so around three o'clock I get up and have to do something about it.

I go to the training area and just keep hitting the punching bag over and over again till Kane comes in and tells me that in a hour I need to go to the Palace.

Finally after the work out I had, I feel more relaxed about this whole situation. So I go and get ready.

I'm given a dagger to keep under my uniform when I get to the Palace. After I'm ready, as Kane and I walk to the outside of the Palace we already see so many preparations being made. As I look at Kane, he smiles reassuringly, and leads me to the front gate.

"Excuse me, I am Kane Ratan, I am here for the guard position." He tells the guard who is standing there.

"Okay, and who are you?"
The guard says while turning his attention to me.

"Oh I am Julia Carver, and I'm here for a maid position."

The guard chuckles after hearing that, "Well, that makes sense".

"Are you kidding me?" I snap back as I move closer to the guard.

Kane quickly grabs my arm and pulls me behind him. "Can you tell us where we should be going?"

"Go straight to that door over there and someone will help you. And another thing, you better keep that little friend of yours in line or else she's going to get in big trouble, with not just me."

"Don't worry about it." He responds then we both head across the courtyard.

"Hey, you should have let me handle him." I say while crossing my arms.

"Yeah, I think we both know that wouldn't have gone well". He replies.

"Okay maybe you're right. But by the way, why did you tell him your real name?" I thought they gave you a fake one as well."

He chuckles. "Well you see, I actually qualify for the guard position."

"Huh, so?" I say with a puzzled look on my face.

"I have the skills to be a guard, so Manager Ty just signed me up and told them I have lots of mercenary work experience. So I guess we're both doing what we're good at."
As he finishes saying that he bursts out laughing.

"Wow, you're hilarious." I say sarcasticly while elbowing him in the gut.

He finally stops laughing as we arrive at a big open door. There is an older woman standing there to greet us.

"Hello. You two must be the hired help." She says with a very serious voice and no smile.

"Yes, we are. Will you help show us around?" Kane replies.

"Not you, just her. You can turn left down this hallway and enter the first door on your right, there someone will help you. Now come with me, girl." She orders.

She turns and starts walking down a different hallway. I follow her. The hallway opens up into a huge room with a magnificent staircase. As we go up the stairs into yet another hallway we pass a room with a big door slightly open and I get a glimpse of the inside. The room is enormous. There is a beautiful big red bed with golden frames, but we walk on past it to a small white door a little further on.

The woman stops and says to me. "This will be your room. The other room we just passed by, you must not enter unless you are called, or told to. Understood!"

"Yes. But who stays there anyways?"

"Don't you know? Why, that's the Crown Prince's room."

"Oh." I say before she continues.

"Now. You need to get ready. Tonight at around 5:00 pm you will need to meet me down stairs, because they will be having dinner. Your clothes should be on your bed inside. And another thing, you will refer to me as Miss April."
I fought back a smile. Her cheery and bright  name didn't suit her at all.
She continued, "And do not talk to the Royal family unless they talk first, always curtsy when greeting them, and never look into their eyes. Am I perfectly clear? Miss Carver?"

"Yes, Miss April." I reply quickly, not wanting to get on her bad side.

"Good." She finishes and leaves.

"Oh, thank goodness that's over." I say while letting out a huge sigh of relief before going to the door and turning the nob.

It isn't a big room, but somehow I like that about it. It had a light blue bed with two night stand tables next to it. As well a window to the right of the bed and another one next to a small table with a chair and a candle.
There is also a dresser with a mirror and a vase of flowers on top of it.

I look at the bed, and see a neat pile of clothing. As I put it on, I look at the mirror.

To be honest, I thought they were going to be itchy and uncomfortable but they're not, they fit nicely.

At the same time, I knew Kane was going to make a joke about them.

Anyways, there is also a pocket watch that comes with the clothes. It's simple and golden.

I check the time, and it is 3:30 pm. which means I still have an hour and a half until the dinner. Miss April never said I wasn't allowed to look around the grounds of the Palace, so I guess that's what I'm going to do.

I find my way around the Palace and get out, using one of the back doors. Once I am outside I see a big forest that looks great to spend some time in, especially since it's Autumn and the leaves look magnificent.

As I go deeper in the forest I can slowly see an opening in the trees. I brush them away and walk into a meadow that is so stunning. As I am taking in all the beauty I notice something, no someone...

(Who do you think it's going to be?) 😱💖
