ROSSLYN

"Edike eso" I hummed as she jogged away from me. (Come here)

"No I'm not coming there." She yelled back as she exited the room and into the kitchen.

"Ami dakchi toh!" I got up from my comfy blanket and followed him. ( I'm calling you)

"You need to come back here and give me a kiss right now." I said again but this time with a little more sterness.

"I'm going to the Halloween party at Marie's. So I need to get to Sam in an hour. Let me go." She whined as she settled on the kitchen island.

"I hope you know that I'm only letting you go because I know Marie's mom. If you do anything funny tonight I'm going to take away your bike." I said in a stern voice, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I'm thirteen maa, I know my shi- thing."

"Watch your language Ro." I shrugged. I don't care if my child swears but that should be after she knows what's good and bad and not when she is thirteen. How did she know that word??

"So can I go? I promise I'll come home before midnight. Completely sober." She said raising both her hands in the air. I crooked my head towards her with a smile.

"Okay fine I was just joking. Marie'smom said we can have sprite." She said again but this time unable to hold her laughter.

"I'll come to get you home. Just text me. Can you do that?" I asked.

"Done deal now let me go. Please??" She dragged the 'please'.

"Okay fine. Just stop sulking and go." I waved a hand at her.

"Bye maa. Text kore debo." She said in her weird accent.(I'll text)

"Love you baby. Ar bangla bolte hole bhalo kore bolo. Bidesider moto noi." I yelled after her but she was already gone. (If you have to speak begali then speak it properly. Not like foreigners.)

I sighed and pulled out my phone from my jeans as I settled on the counter myself.

I dialed his number and waited as the phone rang.

I was about to cut the call when he finally picked up. "Why did it take so long to pick up?" I asked.

"I'm sorry Rosslyn. I just have to prepare for a presentation. But I have a little time now. Tell me where is Ro?" I smiled at the question.

"She's with Sam. Yes she'll be at a Halloween party tonight. She's growing up."

"She is. It's her first Halloween at a Friend's. Do you remember your family's Halloween?" I can hear the smile in his voice. "Yes I do."

"When will you be at studio?"

"In an hour. Be back at nine and then I'll have to pick Ro up." I mostly work from home but sometimes they do need me at the studio.

"Sure I'll be back at the same time too. Bye love you." I smiled.

"See you. love you." We hung up.

I went back into the bed room. I need to get to the studio in an hour. There's a new single on the way. I need to sort it out with the management. Seriously artists need to stop leaking shit on the internet. It causes a lot of loss.

I entered the bathroom to take a shower. I need to take a shower today. I did take a shower yesterday night but I didn't want to stink in the studio.

Entering the bathroom, I turned on the hot water and stood under it. I think I will visit London this week. It's been a long time since I visited home. Mum's been bugging me to visit her back at home.
