TW: MENTION OF CANNABIS.

ROSSLYN

We didn't much talk about Wilbur's family after that. Given that he somewhat stopped sulking around. The next classes went off in a blur. Not that I was complaining. I was dying to return back to a warm bed and caffeine. I also didn't see the mystery guy aka Wilbur's step bro in uni after English.

I jumped up from my seat when the class got dismissed. I was leaving the compound in a hurry when I collided with someone under a tree with fallen leaves, making me spin around. "You piece of-" I quickly stopped myself when I realized who I collided with. The guy in front of me was none other than the mystery guy, Dave himself with a look of surprise on his face. His phone seemed to have flown away out of his hands when he collided with me. He bent down looking for it.

I quickly bent down to look for it too when I realized it was sort of my fault. We huffed in relief when he finally found it amongst the golden leaves. I looked up only get flustered when I realized how close our faces were. I felt the heat rise up to my face when I felt his breath on my face. He cleared his throat once before standing up. I exhaled the breath I was holding up and stood up too.

"Sorry. It was my fault." I murmured looking down doubting that he even heard it.

To my surprise, he shook his head once. "Don't be. It's alright. I wasn't paying attention." Dave chuckled once humorlessly. I nodded once and started walking to get out of the awkward situation.

"Rosslyn?" I spun back on my heels, surprised that he knew my name. "Huh?"

"I'm Dave by the way. Nice to meet you." He offered me a smile and extended his hands.

"It's Rose and nice to meet you too." I shook his hands which I should mention were awfully cold.

"I think I prefer Rosslyn." He smirked darkly before droping his hands and walking past me. I stood there for a minute playing the entire conversation again in my head. I haven't been called Rosslyn since I was 13.

I was just a normal girl in school back then. It was the summer holidays. I was visiting Scotland with my parents. Even though I've been to rosslyn chapel before, it was special because I had just completed reading da vinci code. I still remember being all exited about the holy grail. I snickered at my own stupidity. I begged my parents to leave me alone so I can visit alone, because apparently only the top secret people can know about it. I regretted being going there for the rest of my life. I was never the same after that day. The beauty of the chapel had became a curse for me. Every time I hear the words Rosslyn I am reminded of her.

"Hey Rose?" I woke up from my trance by a loud beckoning of my "name".

"Huh" I was brought back to the reality by the voice calling my name. I turned around to be met by a familiar pair of chocolate brown eyes at a distance. I furrowed my eyebrows when it turned out to be Wilbur. He should be in gym by now. He is always in gym after class. He says that being in the gym makes him forget hard things, things that he never told me. Like the fact that he has a brother. I didn't mind though. God! Why do I even care if he told me about his brother or not? The crowd had thinned by a great extent. There were barely any people left. I watched as Will looked at my eyes, lips in between teeth.

The wind was extremely bad today. Autumn was at its peek which reminded me that I have to get a date for my family's Halloween party. I'll probably not go because if I arrive without a date my cousins would think of me as the "loony, nerd girl who has no game". I can't let that happen. Last year was a mess. I had arrived with a random kid I met in library. Turns out he doesn't think Tom Riddle was hot. Like what? I still have to hear that I bought a fucking blind guy home. I broke apart from Wilbur's stare feeling uncomfortable and started talking.
