I slowly open my eyes to find myself laying on a bed, I looked around and it took me a few seconds to realise it was Mikey's room.
'Did I accidentally fall asleep?'
Flashbacks of the attack in the amusement park rekindled in my mind
That's right, Mikey got hit by a bullet!
I jumped off the bed and ran out of the room, all I can think of at this moment was his injury.
before I walk out into the living room I heard a hissing sound, I peeked my head out to see Mikey sitting on the couch with a doctor beside him helping him take out the bullet in his arm
"I will kill those Rokuhara Tandai bastards tomorrow" Sanzu said in rage
"Boss are you sure you can fight tomorrow ?" Kokonoi looked concerned
"Yea..." Mikey said before lifting his head up and saw me standing in the corner
"You're awake"
I walk towards Mikey, tightening my grip when I saw those bloody gauze on the table. Mikey noticed the worried look on my face, he quickly covered up his wound with his sleeves
My eyebrows furrowed, he's always like this. Acting strong
"How's you're wound"
"It's nothing"
"..."
Liar
The doctor left the penthouse after giving some pain killers and advice.
"Well then, we should be going now. A big day tomorrow " Koko said putting his arms behind his head
"Do you really have to go ?"
"Of course "
"But you got badly injured today, how are you supposed to-"
Mikey raises one of his eyebrows. He didn't answer, his expression replace words. He is determined and I know that nothing can change his mind.
"Here" Mikey took out something from his pocket
"What's this?" I looked at the envelope in Mikey's hand
"Tickets to Osaka"
"Huh?"
"I heard there is a parade there tomorrow, you and Akiyo can go check it out"
"I'm not going " I turn my head aside averting his gaze
"Why not?" the blond-haired man ask
"I know what you are thinking Mikey"
"..."
"Is it because of what happened today?"
"Y/n it is not safe here, not until the battle is over."
"I'm going with you tomorrow"
"WHAT?" Mikey's eyes widened when he heard what I said
"Uhh, I think we shouldn't be here" Kokonoi smiled awkwardly
Mikey gave Koko a death stare and within a split second it was only me and Mikey in the penthouse

*after exiting the building, Koko let out a sigh of relief
"What was that for?" Sanzu felt annoyed after being dragged out by Koko
"You're lucky I pulled you out, a war is gonna break in that house"
"Huh?"
"Well then, let's go have a drink" Koko smirked landing one of his arms on Sanzu's shoulders as they both walk away

"I'm not leaving you when you're going out there to risk your life"
"Stop being naive Y/n. It's a battle, not a game"
"I think I've been too soft lately that you've forgotten who I am Mikey"
"And I think you've forgotten I am not someone who needs protection from a woman Y/n" Mikey raised his voice
I bit my lower lips and stood there in silents not knowing what to say next, the atmosphere in the room was tense
"I'm sorry..." The blond-haired man realized he had lost his temper, he quickly soften his tone and walk towards me placing his hands on both my shoulders
"Y/n, I hope you understand. This battle is between the deities. I don't want you to get involved, I said I will protect you right? So please... just listen to me. I promise everything will be alright and I will come to get you the next day." Mikey said as he gently caress my face
I decided not to go against his words, this man is just too strong-headed and everything I say will be pointless so it will be better if we just end this fight and make sure he has enough rest for tomorrow. I let out a sigh and held onto his hand that was still caressing my face
"You promise you won't get hurt?"
"I promise" Mikey let out a smile when I didn't fight back and finally agreed to go to Osaka
The discussion ended with Mikey's 'Victory' before we went to bed separately. I nagged him to take care of himself during the fight and to not flaunt his superiority although I doubt he will listen to me.
Inside my room, I called Akiyo to tell her about the trip tomorrow
"Hey Akiyo, do you have plans for tomorrow"
"No, why"
"Mikey gave me tickets to go to Osaka tomorrow, can you come?"
"REALLY? OF COURSE!"
"Okay then, Sanzu will come to pick you up at you're apartment at 10 a.m"
"Sure! I'm so excited Y/n"
"Oh and Akiyo" I lowered my voice
"Yeah?"
"Bring a friend"
"What?"
"I'll explain tomorrow, just tell your friend to wait for us at the airport"
"Oh, sure. Okay."
I hung up the phone and began to pack a light luggage. If we are going to put on an act, might as well make it realistic right? After everything is prepared I throw myself onto the bed and stared at the ceiling thinking of how Mikey pushed me away when the hooded man was about to pull the trigger, how he gave me a piggyback ride after he got injured, and how he looked at me when his hands caress my face.
"Baka!" I mumbled, covering the sheets over my head

Next chapter will be the battle of the three deities. I'm super excited to write that!
