Where is that girl? God. If only Rox didn't run off all the time maybe I wouldn't have the notas all over me. "Rox!"
"Roxanne Sabrina Kruse! Get your butt in here now!"
"Kat? Come here fast! There's someone talking to Custos!" I heard Rox whisper-yell back.
"What are you talki-" I start to say as I walk over to the window when I see a tall boy talking to Custos.
This makes no sense. No one talks to Custos unless he orders it. Who is that kid? I think as I see Custos and the mysterious boy walk towards the castra's main hall.
"Everyone! Get back and be quiet!" I yell at the others and right on time because the next thing I know, Custos is coming through the glass door with Mystery Boy.
"Children. I have decided you need a new member. Boy, introduce yourself." Custos announced.
"Um.. My name is Ca-ameron." The boy, Cameron, stuttered out.
We all looked at him with blank stares until suddenly Fay said, "Why do you h-" Thank God Chet suddenly covered little Fay's mouth.
"Excuse me?!" roared Custos."Did I say you could speak?" Suddenly, Custos grabbed Fay by her braids and started to pull her towards the Crypta. The Crypta is a dark, stuffy chamber that has no window. Custos put us in there if we disobey a law for three full days without food and only one bottle of water and the rats to keep you company. He starves us in there until we are so weak that we can barely stand then on the third day at the end of the punishment he marks us with his knife so we have another nota to add to our collection.
It's a terrible place and not a place for a small angelic child like Fay. Fay is the youngest with big brown doe eyes and chocolate colored hair. We only know she is the youngest because of how small she is. The rest of us are taller and slightly bigger but not by much because of our food problems. I'm startled back into reality by Mace holding me back. I didn't even realize my fists were clenched and I was about to attack Custos. I silently thank the blonde and blue eyed boy holding me back from getting sent to the Crypta myself or worse, killed.
