We get on a Quinjet and we fly to a boat. We get on and my mom changes out of her suit which she leaves in a stall and she changes into a tank top and pants. I stay in my olive green jumpsuit with my leather jacket over it. My mom removes her makeup. Then she taps into the security camera system on her phone. We watch as Ross and his team enter the building looking for us.
My mom calls his phone. I shoot her a confused look. and holds up her hand as though to say "just listen" I obey her and Ross picks up. "Oh," says Ross. "Don't do this," says my mom. "Do what?" asks Ross. "Come after us. You're embarrassing yourself, it looks desperate," says my mom. "Maybe you should be calling to cut a deal because from my vantage point, it's the federal fugitives who are desperate," says Ross. "From my you look like you could use bed rest. What is this, your second triple bypass?" says my mom. "Don't worry about me. We got Barton, we got Wilson, and the other guy, the incredible shrinking convict. We got Maximoff." says Ross. I tense when he says Maximoff. He has Wanda held captive. Nat gives me a reassuring look. "Rogers is on the run. You got no friends. Where you gonna go?" says Ross. "I've lived a lot of lives before I met you Ross. You shouldn't have gone through all this trouble. I'm done. We're done," says my mom. Then she hangs up the phone as she starts to put on a hoodie.
We hear knocking on the bathroom door. My mom exhales and finishes putting on her hoodie. Then she lets her hair down out of its pony tail. Then we exit the bathroom from the other door. We go out into the hallway and outside on to the car deck on the boat. We walk to the edge of the boat and my mom slips her phone over the edge. "Mom!" I say shocked. I know my mom is a former spy and is used to being on the run and needing to be undetected but that's just hardcore. I am definitely not doing that with my watch. "Madison. Your dad, Ross, Fury, and a decent amount of people can track me on my phone. You don't need to get rid of your watch but I needed to get rid of my phone," says my mom. "Makes sense," I say. We ride the boat for a little while. After a little while longer, the boat docks and my mom and I walk to find a car.
I get in the back seat and my mom obviously drives and we drive to a store. "Maddie, stay here. I'll be right back," says my mom. I nod. My mom gets out of the car and I realize that she just called me Maddie. She calls me Maddie on rare occasions. She almost always calls me Madison or sweetie. Either way, I'll take it. My mom is back ten minutes later. She loads some stuff in the back and gets in the drivers seat.
She drives us to a place I don't recognize. Part of that is because I have never been to Norway. We pull up to a field where a trailer is parked. "Maddie, you can get out of the car," says my mom. I listen and I get out of the car.
We walk up to the trailer and before we go in my mom says "Mads, please stay in the living room until I tell you to." I nod and the curiosity is killing me. My mom and I walk in and she points to the couch. I sit on it and I give her a thumbs up and she leaves and walks into one of the bedrooms. I look around and I wonder why we are here and who we are here to see. Then I realize that she called me Mads. That's a new one for her. Only Wanda calls me that occasionally.
I stay put and a few minutes later, my mom walks out followed by some man I've never seen or have heard my mom mention. "Who's the kid?" asks the mystery man. "Mason, this is Madison. She's my daughter.
Maddie, this is Mason. He's an old friend of mine," says my mom. I smile and wave to Mason. "Hold up. You have a daughter? I thought you were sterilized in the Red Room," says Mason confused. "I thought so too but somehow I had Maddie. She's six," says Nat catching Mason up. "Cool. Who's the father? Nice to meet you Madison," says Mason. "Nice to meet you Mason. By the way, you can call me Maddie," I say. "You don't need to know who the father is, Mason," says my mom. Then Mason and my mom have a conversation that I don't pay attention to because I am busy looking around the trailer. I hear Mason mention Budapest and my attention snaps to their conversation. I watch as Mason hands my mom a box from the Budapest storage. It has briefcase in it. I wonder what's in the case but I doubt my mom will tell me. "You can throw all that with the rest of the junk. I don't want it," says my mom. Then Mason explains something about the trailer and he hugs my mom and says "Nice seeing you and nice meeting you Maddie," "Nice meeting you too," I say. Mason gives me a high five and walks down the stairs of the trailer.
My mom puts the box in the trunk of the car and comes back inside. "Maddie, we will be staying here until I figure out what we're gonna do next," says my mom. I nod and she shows me my room. I look around for a moment before going back to the main area. We are there for a little while before the generator dies. My mom tries to fix it but no luck. I try as well being gifted when it comes to technology. No dice. I can't fix it.
