not every story has a happy ending

intro

i've always fantasized about being the new girl at school but never thought it would actually happen.
my name is elizabeth jones. i always lived in a small town called forks in washington but due to family issues i now live in beacon hills, california.

i've always been questionable about my family at a young age. "why do we know things others don't?" "how do i hear things others can't?" etc. but once i visibly saw my brother,, change? i knew we weren't normal human beings. in fact, we weren't human at all. we were a family of vampires. the jones family, as most knew us. it took me some time to adapt to my new self unlike others who never truely did. one being my youngest brother, tommy. i don't like to talk about him much.

we had heard there was a killer in beacon hills. leaving their victims headless and blood fully drained. we knew it was a vampire. therefore we left our hometown and fled to california.

it was weird trying to find an excuse to tell my friends back home on why we were randomly fleeing, but i made it work.

"well miss you EJ" one of my friends said while hugging me. i could tell she meant it, unlike a few of my other friends. like anna. anna had been into my boyfriend parker for ages now. jealous of us and our relationship. with me gone, she knew she could finally have parker. truly, i didn't care much. yes i liked parker but he was a place holder for much more. however that didn't make it any easier when his neck was inches away from my throbbing fangs. it was a urge i learned to fight off. just like the urge to kill little anna was.

it wasn't hard breaking up with parker. for me at least. as i said i didn't like him much.

"EJ, babe, you don't need to do this you know. it's only a few months" he said sorrowful.

"i'm sorry parker. but i can't do long distance. which means we're done."

"is this because of anna?  i told you we didn't do anything!"

"i don't care about anna, you two can do whatever you want. we're done parker."

he grabs my hands. "EJ please"

"god dammit parker can you just leave already. how many times does a girl have to say it. WERE DONE"

after the breakup he didn't say much to me. given i broke up with him the day before i left but still. he seemed hurt but with anna there constantly following him around like a puppy, he'll be fine.

as for my other friends, i met with them before i left."see you all soon" was the last words i said to my friends. they all thought i was leaving for 3 months, maybe 6 tops. little did they know id be gone for much more than that.
