A few days earlier on October 25th..

"Hey! Give that back!," shouted Alex as he jumped on the couch trying to reach out to his older sister's hand. "Aww, you want this old book? Try to reach it," said Alena while laughing all the way. "You know how much this means to Alan, he is not just my older twin, he is my best friend and I won't let you take his things when he is helping mom with decorations for Halloween!", said Alex still trying to jump onto Alena but he was shorter than her so he found it hard. Suddenly his foot slipped and he fell towards the glass coffee table. Alena realized but she thought it was too late, just then as Alex was expecting a great impact on his head he felt a soft brush on his shoulders, he turned to see Alan had caught him mid-way. "Be careful, I don't want you getting hurt," said Alan with a comforting smile on his face that soon turned into an angry one when he glared at Alena. She jumped down and approached him and said, "Alright my bad but just because you are taller than us doesn't mean I still can't tease you for having this ridiculous notebook." "It's not a notebook," said Alan, "It's a gift I found and you have no right to touch my things and if you don't believe it just mind your own business without involving my little brother," said Alan as he grabbed the dark covered book and Alex's hand as they walked off to their room.

Alena crossed her arms as she watched the both of them walk up the stairs, "Mom, can you believe that?," Alena said as she walked up to the front porch where she saw her mom, Madilyn who was setting up fake spider webs across the sides of the wall as well as jack-o-lanterns on the ground. "Believe what darling?," said Madilyn still setting up the webs. "That old myth book that Alan has, the one that he always carries after he found it at the beginning of this month?," "Oh, right I remember that old dark covered book, it is pretty cool right?," said her mom. "Cool? That does not even begin to describe it, if anything it's just weird, I mean four days ago it was my birthday and I just turned fifteen and he had to put up decorations of some "Spiral Man or myth", said Alena while quoting with her fingers. "I mean, it's just embarrassing yet it's funny I suppose because I can tease him about it but it's just..-"she was then interrupted by her mom, "Darling, you can't judge someone that easily and he is your brother, be nice and you almost hurt Alex." "Ugh, whatever mom, I'm just going to see what they are up to now," said Alena as she walked away.

Earlier in Alan and Alex's room..

"Are you alright? Did you hit anywhere when you almost fell?," said Alan as he knelt down in front of Alex who was sitting on his bed. "No.. I'm alright, you caught me after all but I'm sorry for not being of much help," said Alex while gripping his shoulder. "Hey, you were nice for trying to get my book back, I really appreciate that." "Really? Well I'm glad you are happy," said Alex with the cutest smile ever on his baby face. Alan chuckled but couldn't help but brush his hand all around Alex's fluffy hair as he said," You know you really are the most greatest best friend ever and the cutest too, without you I don't know what I'd do, and if I'm being honest people can tell us apart right away with that baby face of yours, it's crazy how we're just fourteen." The expression on Alex's face quickly changed from a smile to becoming as red as a tomato, "I may be shorter than you guys but I'm still old, I'm not a baby!," he said as he crossed his arms while sucking in his cheeks. They both looked at each other and laughed out, Alex reached for a hug and after a warm hug they sat back on each of their beds facing each other as Alan stared down at his book.

Just then there were footsteps approaching the door which was then followed by a knock, Alena walked in as she laid her eyes upon Alan who was giving her the death glare and Alex who was placing his long sleeves over his face still feeling insecure about his height from what happened earlier. "What do you want?," said Alan still with the coldest expression ever on his face. "I just came to check on you both, and..." she said as she approached Alex, Alan watched as she sat beside Alex and placed her hand around him and brought him near her and as she hugged him she said, "Don't take it too harsh shortie, I was just kidding, after all I am still your big sister!" Alex let out a nervous laugh as Alena made her way towards Alan, "And as for you, I will not judge you I suppose, after all you can do whatever you want and have different interests right?", said Alena while smiling awkwardly. "I guess, I mean this is the first time you are actually nice for once," said Alan with a surprised expression. "Well I changed my mind but that still doesn't mean I don't find it weird anyway I'll see you later myth boy and shortie," she said as she made her way towards the room door and shut it. "Well that was..surprising," said Alex, "Yeah but to be honest, when it comes to the both of you, I find it easier to be around you rather than her, she just doesn't understand to mind her own business at times, specially when it comes to this book." "I know but at least you aren't alone, I don't know much about this book but if you like it then I like it too!," said Alex with a grin on his face as his dimples appeared. His smile warmed Alan's heart and he smiled too. "Yeah, I'm glad."
