We arrive at the beach, the wind flying through every individual streak in my hair. I buy Aiden and Jason an ice-cream and then sit down. I ask Aiden where Jason went.
"Not sure... I think he went to the bathroom"
"By himself?" I wonder.I frantically run, with Aiden next to me, to the nearest bathroom. My heart pounding, my palms sweaty, my knees trembling. No sight of Jason! We search the next three bathrooms at the beach.. Still nothing! Aiden and I ask a couple of people, nothing even close to Jason. We scamper across the beach. NOTHING!
Finally, Aiden and I give up! We sit back down at the ice-cream shop. I have a thought:
THE JETTY!
The only place we haven't looked at yet!Aiden and I quickly run toward the jetty held by eight algae-stained pillars. The wooden boards seem unstable! No sign of Jason...
"Ugh! I give up!"
I feel like I'm teaching Aiden bad lessons but unfortunately all I can do is GIVE UP!We sit down at one of the wooden seats. From the opaque view of the jetty, we make eye-contact with a figure.
"Aiden!" The figure contains a familiar voice...
"Jason!" Replies Aiden.
