-One Year Later-

It'll be my one year anniversary with Steve today. I still remember the beginning of our relationship like it was yesterday. I love this man with all my heart and I couldn't ask for anything better. It's been an honor to see him learn all about this new age and grow. I was privileged to be the one at his side during the hard times when Bucky, the man he's told me all about, resurfaced and Hydra took over S.H.E.I.L.D. It's been especially hard on me now that the agency is shut down. All of my coworkers and I are out of jobs and Nick Fury is gone. At least I've had Steve to help me. I'd never be where I am without him, and for that I am forever grateful.
I sit on the couch and look around the house. The sun shines through the windows and everything gleams. My heart warms at the thought that this is our house. We bought it together about five months into our relationship. I decorated it and Steve tried to help but watching him trying to assemble Ikea furniture was too painful so I begged him to stop. We'd only been in this house for seven months and already have so many memories with so so much more to come.
Steve wanted to do something nice tonight since it was our anniversary. I couldn't wait to see him. He'd been working all week with what was left of S.H.E.I.L.D. crew so I barely got to see him. I'd been hanging out with the rest of the Avengers throughout the week. I met with Natasha and Susan two days ago for coffee and Thor and Tony made a special visit to see me at the museum. Tony joked saying this was where Steve belonged. Clint and Bruce hung out with me at the house recently. It was nice knowing that they were my friends even way after the Magneto thing. It was nice getting some time to myself too but I still missed Steve so much.
The silence in this big house was getting to be a little too much so I called Tony. He picked up the phone and I could hear the smirk on his face.

"Hello Miss Walker."

Tony had always been jealous of Steve for being with me. It was way too obvious sometimes. For a while Pepper and him were together but it just didn't seem to work for him. He wanted something he couldn't have and ever since the Valentine's Day thing he thought he had a chance. I didn't want to indulge him by seeing him but I also didn't want to ignore him because he was a great guy and a good friend and I loved messing with him.

"Hey Tony."

I replied almost rolling my eyes.

"What can I do for ya?"

"I was wondering if we could hang out."

"Of course. We could meet at the tower..."

I paused for a moment wondering if I wanted to be in his house. It's not like I haven't been there before but I haven't been there in a while.

"Sure. I'll see you soon."

"Great."

And then he hung up. I went to our bedroom and picked out an outfit. I put on one of my best push up bras and matching undies just in case Steve got home early and I would look good for him. I doubted he'd get home early but why not. I slid on a basic pair of short, tastefully ripped denim shorts and a cropped Iron Man shirt because I know Tony would have something to say about it. I did my makeup next. Subtle gold eyeshadow and black winged liner with massive lashes over my dewy foundation and lipgloss. Nothing too fancy, it was just a casual meet up anyway. I put on my white low top converse and slipped a few things into my bag. I grabbed my phone and keys and headed to my car.

When I got to Stark Tower I walked right through the big glass doors to the front desk. I looked so out of place on the first floor but where I was going it didn't really matter.

"Hi, I'm here to see Mr. Stark."

I say to the lady sitting in front of me. She seems surprised and makes a call. After a few seconds she looks back at me.
