"JUSTIN'S HOME!"

a blonde-haired, fairly muscular guy sprinted from out of nowhere and immediately attacked my brother with a hug. several other boys joined their cute little "reunion" moments after, resulting in me standing there as an awkward third wheel of sorts.

"why were you gone for so long?" one of the curly haired boys asked.

"well, um," justin chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "surprise!" he said, gesturing towards me.

the six other boys turned their heads to face my direction as i waved at them awkwardly. there was a bit of silence until one of them started freaking out.

"JUSTIN PHAN! YOU KNOW SINCERELYMIYA ON TIKTOK AND NEVER TOLD ME?"

"YOU ASSHOLE HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL US?"

"WHEN THE HELL DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN?"

"i'll answer that," i interjected. "we're siblings."

and once again, there was another pause, until even more chaos and ruckus ensued as the boys took time to process this information.

"YOU HAD A WHOLEASS SISTER AND NEVER SAID ANYTHING?"

"I THOUGHT WE KNEW EACH OTHER!"

"HOW DARE YOU!"

"and now you see what you're dealing with," justin said to me as he tried to calm the boys down. "and now you all know why i kept cleaning the extra room," he explained to his friends.

"my whole life has been a lie," one of them said dramatically, making me laugh.

"stop being so dramatic," justin said. "on another note, care to introduce yourselves to my sister?"

"nice segue," one of them laughed before turning to face me. "my name's kane. i'm the oldest out of all these idiots."

"i'm sebastian," the one next to him chimed in. "i'm the youngest at eighteen."

"oh we're the same age!" i said, earning a smile from the boy.

"hey, i'm regie," the blonde one from earlier said. "don't fall too in love with me."

"you little shithead," justin grumbled. "my goal is to make sure she doesn't fall in love with any of you."

"too late," another of them winked. "kidding!" he laughed as justin began eyeing him. "my name's oliver, and i'm seb's older brother," he smiled as he introduced himself.

"i'm darren, and i identify as a bird," the next guy added.

i nodded in amusement. "if i open the door will you fly away?" i asked jokingly.

"can't get rid of me that easily," he grinned.

"and i guess since ryan's not here, i'm the last one, even though i'm not a member," the last one said. "i'm ty, kane's older brother and their manager, otherwise known as the father of seven crazy children."

"oh, and our editor and videographer, bae, decided to take a break for a couple months," kane added. "he moved out a couple weeks ago but he said he'll visit occasionally."

"gotcha," i nodded, processing all of the information.

"hey, where is ryan anyway?" justin asked.

kane shrugged. "i think he's taking a nap? he filmed a bit and went to the gym with seb and oli earlier today and he seemed pretty tired. i can wake him up if you want."

"we can let him sleep. i'll show miya around first," my brother decided.

"can i?" sebastian asked. "i should get to know her."

"we all do," his brother retorted.

justin rolled his eyes at the pair of siblings. "sure, seb, you can show her around. i need some rest after all of that driving. sis, i'll put your stuff in your room so just enjoy your time with seb for now."

"thanks," i smiled at my brother.

"okay let's go!" sebastian exclaimed as he pulled my hand down a hallway.

"and here's your room," sebastian grinned as he showed me the last place of the house, which was a lot larger than i thought it was.

"thanks for the tour sebastian," i smiled at him before i walked into my room.

"no problem, and feel free to call me seb," he answered before following me. "it'll be nice having you around, miya."

"i hope i won't be too much of a bother," i said, slightly worried.

sebastian shook his head. "you'll be fine. i'm glad you're here. now there's finally someone the same age as me here," he laughed.

"happy to help," i replied jokingly. "question though," i began, changing the subject. "how did you guys even start as the -- wait what are you guys called again?"

"i'm offended," he gasped, clutching his chest dramatically before answering my question. "just kidding. it's all good. anywho, we're called the north star boys. it was originally me and my brother's idea, and then we got everyone else. we thought the idea of an asian-american content house would be fun, and somehow the rest of them all agreed," he joked.

"it's pretty cool actually," i agreed. "i'm excited to get to know you guys--"

"MIYA COME OUT HERE!"

sebastian laughed at the sudden burst of noise. "i'm excited too. now let's go out there before justin comes in here and drags you out."

"agreed," i answered, standing up with sebastian before following him out of my room and into the living room where another loud noise had just been made.

"i was having a nap!" exclaimed an unidentifiable voice as the two of us made our way through the hallway. i noticed that a camera was out and was being held by ty, and saw a sleepy looking figure trudging up the stairs.

"too bad," regie said teasingly. "we have a surprise for you," he continued, glancing at me and sebastian and gesturing for us to not step any further.

"what now?" the mystery person groaned.

"someone's going to be living with us!" kane said cheerfully.

the guy blinked, staring at his friend, trying to process this information. "you're kidding right?"

"nope!" darren shook his head, flapping his arms to stay true to his bird identity. "and they're here right now!"

"close your eyes," oliver grinned.

"fam, they're already closed because i'm TIRED AS FUCK," the person groaned.

"chill," justin snickered. "okay, come out new family member!"

sebastian grabbed my hand and dragged me out to face the mystery guy. "you can open your eyes ryan!" he grinned, letting go of my hand.

ryan blinked, as if he was struggling to figure out who i was. "wait, what the fuck, why is sincerelymiya standing in our living room?"

the rest of the boys burst out laughing at his response. after regaining their composure, justin spoke up.

"ryan, this is miya. miya, this is ryan. miya's my sister and she's going to be living with us for awhile."

needless to say, that woke ryan up.
