After long journey from Miyagi Prefecture to Hyōgo Prefecture, I had finally arrived at my destination.

I quickly dropped my luggage off inside my new home, barely sparing a glance at the unfamiliar surroundings before heading out again. My pulse quickened with anticipation as I closed the door behind me, the keys clinging against my palm.

Inarizaki stood tall before me, its imposing gates a stark contrast to the more modest entrance of Karasuno. I hesitated for a moment, feeling the weight of the transition settling on my shoulders. But excitement spurred on me, and as soon I was clutching my purse tightly as I passed through the gates, eyes wide as I took in the massive campus. The school day had ended, leaving the grounds eerily quiet, with only a few scattered students around.

I pulled out my phone, trying to locate the building I was supposed to go to, but the campus map was a maze of unfamiliar hallways and buildings. Frustration bubbled up as I realized I was hopelessly lost.

Just then, I spotted a group of three, their sports attire immediately catching my eye. They were unmistakably volleyball players, and something about their confident stride suggested they knew exactly where they were going.

"Excuse me!" I called out, picking up my pace to catch them.

As I approached, I took in their appearances more closely. The shortest one had striking white-black hair that fell into his eyes, and the other two were nearly identical except for their hair color—one had bright blonde hair, and the other a sleek grey.

"Sorry to bother you," I began, sliding my phone back into my purse. "Could you help me find the volleyball gym?"

The white-black haired one turned to me with a friendly grin. "You must be Kageyama Yuki!" His voice was warm, and it caught me off guard.

"I'm Miya Atsumu," the blonde one added with a smirk that was somehow both welcoming and challenging. "And this is my twin brother, Miya Osamu."

"And I'm Kita Shinsuke, captain of the boys' volleyball team," the grey-haired one introduced himself, his voice steady and reassuring.

I quickly bowed, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. "It's a pleasure to meet you all!"

Atsumu's smirk widened. "We were just heading to the gym. You can tag along with us."

Relief washed over me, and I nodded eagerly. "Thank you! I don't know where anything is."

As we started walking together, I fell into step beside them. The campus seemed even larger now that I was aware of how lost I could have been without their help. I noticed the way Atsumu and Osamu walked in sync, their strides almost identical, yet something about their demeanors hinted at distinct personalities beneath the surface. Kita, on the other hand, carried himself with a calm confidence, his presence steadying.

"So, Yuki," Atsumu began, glancing over at me with that ever-present smirk. "Can I call you that?"

"Yeah, sure!" I smiled kindly at him, trying to ignore the slight flutter in my chest. His casual confidence was almost infectious.

He tilted his head slightly, his curiosity evident. "So, what made you decide to come to Inarizaki? It's a pretty big jump from Karasuno."

I took a moment before answering, choosing my words carefully. "Well, your school reached out to me and offered a spot. The girls' volleyball team at Karasuno wasn't doing so great, and we weren't really making any progress. It felt like we were stuck in place. So, when Inarizaki extended the offer, I saw it as a chance to really push myself, to be part of something bigger."

Atsumu's smirk softened into a thoughtful expression. "Makes sense. It's not every day someone gets an offer from Inarizaki."

"Plus," I continued, feeling a bit of pride creep into my voice, "I heard the girls' team was looking for a captain. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to step up and take on more responsibility. So, here I am."
