Ross slowly started to wake up groaning at the pounding headache he was feeling. It was the next day and he was going into surgery. Something he wasn't very fond of, the idea of it, that was, but it was something he needed and he figured it was a good way to get out of school, though he was probably going to have to go the next day. "Ross? You awake?" Chris asked, walking into the boys room.
"Barely." Ross grumbled "I know, I have to get ready for the surgery." he spoke with a groggy voice.
"Yep, I'll make you something to eat, what do you feel like?"
"Y-You have all the paperwork filled out?" Ross asked confused "You're going to call them in advance to make sure we still have our appointment?"
"I'll call on arrival as said. Don't worry, just get into comfortable clothes and everything will be fine. What do you want to eat?"
"Uhm.. Cheesey scrambled eggs and bacon...?" Ross asked, he was confused of why his father was so cheery after that fight last night but didn't question it as he figured that he forgot as always.
"Will do, take a quick shower as well before we leave."
"Alright, thanks... Dad.." his dad smiled and nodded heading off to cook up breakfast while Ross headed to shower in the bathroom. Ross felt clean after the shower, a nice feeling he didn't get too often despite his constant and obsessive showering.
"Foods ready!" His father called while he was getting dressed, pulling his t-shirt weakly over his head crying out from the pain of moving his broken arm.
"Ow.. Ow.. Ow.." He muttered before yelling down to his dad "Ok! Be down in a moment...!!" Ross moved quickly, struggling to get his sweatpants on. He stood and headed down the stairs slowly and carefully this time, as not to fall. Seeing the table set he smiled slightly, it reminded him of when his brother and mother was there. Mom.. He missed her alot, he hadn't talked to her in ages, apparently she was super busy.... Too busy to talk to him..
"Come eat. Hurry please." Chris said ushering his son over, his plate almost done already. "You want hotsauce?"
"Ehm-" Ross grunted slightly sitting at the table "No- no thanks, random question.. But when will I see mom again?" he asked as casually as he could though his heart was pounding in his chest while he cut a piece of egg to eat.
"Oh.." Chris mumbles, sighing he shrugged slightly "I think we'll go next summer.. Or the winter break." Ross tried to hide his pout, nodding. "How does that sound?"
"Good." Ross lied hiding his sad tone "How is she doing? Mom hasn't really talked to me recently.. Is grandma and grandpa still around...?" Ross didn't even know anything about his other family. He really only knew about mom, dad and uncle Jamie. Even then he was loosing his relationship with mom.
"Yep, grandpa is still going strong.. Grandma isn't doing too well."
"Oh no.." Ross muttered, he tried sounding anxious he was honestly relieved to hear that, he just wanted his mom back. "Hopefully she gets better." Chris nodded hesitantly, picking at the egg left on his plate while Ross finished his own. "Are you done..?" he asked gently standing up, ushering to his dads plate.
"Uh- yea-" Chris stood, taking Ross' plate out of his hand and taking his own off the table "Go get shoes on. I'll wash these."
"Right-" Ross stepped back from his dad, heading to the door he got ready to go to surgery.
