An Avengers Christmas (pt. 1)

The early morning dawned on New York City as millions of people awoke and began their day amidst the cold and bitterness of a new December day.

It was nearing 8:00 am as Peter was walking the last few steps to his school after getting off the subway.  Shivers racked his body even though he was wearing a good three layers of clothing and a heated coat that was gifted to him from Tony Stark.

It was way warmer than how he had dressed last year during his first winter with his Spider abilities.  That winter had felt like it would never end and Peter thought he would never truly be warm ever again. This year was much better now that he had a billionaire scientist of a father who was extremely concerned about his inability to thermoregulate.

It was December 23rd and the final day of school before Peter began his two week winter break and got to spend those weeks at Stark Tower surrounded by his newfound family who also happened to be the Avengers.

His Aunt May was planning to spend the holidays with her boyfriend Greg and his family in Florida. She had asked if Peter would like to come with them but he had declined and chosen to let May and Greg spend Christmas as just the two of them. Not only that, Tony had asked Peter if he would like to spend the holidays with him and of course he couldn't say no to that.

May would be picking him up after school and taking him to the tower before meeting Greg at the airport and taking a flight straight to Tampa.  Peter had packed a suitcase that morning and put it in May's car so they wouldn't have to stop at the apartment after school.

As Peter walked up the steps at Midtown he found Ned right inside the school talking to another student that was on their Decathlon team. 

Ned immediately caught sight of Peter and waved him over excitedly before finishing the chat with the boy he had been talking too.

"Duuudee!" Ned says as him and Peter do their special handshake.  "You're so lucky!  I wish I could spend Christmas with the Avengers."

"Shhh," Peter puts a finger to his lips and lightly pulls Ned off to the side. "It's gonna be so awesome though! Basically everyone is gonna be there. Mr. Stark, Rhodey, Captain America, the Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Thor, Loki, Hawkeye, Falcon, Wong, Doctor Strange, the Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. And of course Happy and Pepper will be there as well. I think I covered everyone."

"I'm jealous now," Ned responds as him and Peter begin a slow trek to their lockers. "But I'm really happy for you. You need to take tons of pictures and send them to me."

Don't worry dude. I will."

Peter walked down the front steps of his school after finishing his last day before winter break. Now the break had officially begun and pretty soon he would be at the tower with Tony and the rest of his Avengers family.

Seeing May's red car waiting to pick him up, Peter races to it and opens the door. There was May applying red lipstick as she held up a tiny, compact mirror to her face.

"Hey May!" Peter says as he climbs into the car.

"Hi Peter. How was school?" She finishes her touch up and closes the mirror before putting it and the lipstick into her purse.

"It was good. A few teachers brought in some chocolates and cookies to celebrate the holidays."

"That's nice," May turns on the car's ignition and puts the car in reverse to exit where she was parked. "I made a pan of my world famous tiramisu for you to take to Tony and Pepper. I figured it would be a nice treat for the party tomorrow."
