A smirk formed from my lips as I saw how my people devotedly work for me. Everything is going smoothly as what I've planned. Wealth, power, trust and devotion. Anything you'll name, I have them all.
But– there's one more thing I don't have and I must have.
I heard a knocked from my office door but my eye sight is still on the beautiful view from my glass window.
"G-Good morning, Sir. Its me-"
Instead of listening to my secretary's greetings, I interrupted him.
"The view is eye cathing, isn't it?" I asked my secretary as I am still watching the view.
"I-It is, Sir," he answered directly.
When he didn't hear a single word from me after that, agad niyang sinabi sa'kin ang pakay niya.
"Sir. We have a serious problem that I want to discuss with you."
I crossed my arms as I turned my swivel chair around.
"A serious problem, really?" I chuckled as I questioned him. "What kind of a serious problem when I have all I want now?" I smirked devilishly to intimidate my new secretary.
I saw how my secretary gulped the liquid inside his mouth. He even wiped off the sweat on his forehead as he tried to meet my eyes.
Good for him, natagalan niya ang pagta-trabaho sa'kin. Well, let me see.
"S-Sir," he called.
My full attention was into my secretary not until some douche bags entered my office without asking for my consent.
I raised them a brow as the two of them entered. I, then, stood up to sit on my desk. "What are you two doing here? I didn't ask for you to come here."
Darren roamed his eyes around my office and smiled as he spotted my refrigerator. Patay gutom.
"Makikikain lang, boss. Out of stock ref namin eh. Diba Derrick?"
Derrick just nodded as he sits beside where Darren is. Tss, nuisance.
I gazed my eyes once again to my secretary and waited for him to speak up.
"Ah, yes. It's about Mrs. Villacorta– your Mom, Sir."
"And what about her?" Curiosity begun to fill me up. Haven't heard about her lately.
"Sir, she's.. she's on her way here to meet you.. and your girlfriend. And she will be here in an hour."
What? "Damn it!" I cursed. Napatayo ako sa gulat. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" I asked as I marched back and forth around my office.
Why? I mean– I'm not yet prepared. And that's the one more thing I need to have. A fvcking girlfriend!
"B-Busy po kasi kayo palagi saka wrong t-timing din ako kapag p-pupunta sa opisina niyo."
I gaze my eyes onto my secretary. "So you're blaming me for the mess you've cause?" Galit kong saad. "Tss, get out of here bago ko pa pasabugin 'yang bungo mo."
In a flash, my secretary stormed out my office. I exhaled my anger off and face the twins from the coach.
"You two, where are you going?" I asked nang mag simula na silang umalis sa opisina ko.
Derrick just shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know. I'm just following Darren's footsteps."
Kahit kailan talaga, ang ayos nilang kausap. Tss!
Hinilot ko muna ang sintido ko bago ako magsalita ulit. "You just heard that my Mom's coming home, right?" I glanced at them. "Now, I want the two of you to find me a woman that will suit her taste. I'll give you thirty minutes to do that task."
Nagkatinginan naman ang dalawa, like they were discussing through their eyes. Darren smirked at tinignan ako.
"Anong makukuha namin dito?" Darren asked while licking the tip of his fingers after eating something.
"Anything you wish for."
He slightly smirked and tapped his brother's shoulder. "Iyon lang naman pala. Tara na Derrick para may pang groceries na tayo mamaya."
Derrick just followed Darren's order and followed him. Umalis na nga ang dalawa sa opisina ko.
I brushed my hair as I got irritated from the news I received. Are you really that excited to see your son getting married already, Mom?
I sat on my swivel chair as I gently massage my forehead. Ah, this is giving me a headache.

"Clarity!" Someone called for my name.
Tinigil ko ang ginagawang sparring namin ni Clark. I gave him a pat on his shoulder saka bumaling sa paparating na si Venice. I take off my gloves at inilagay iyon sa locker ko.
"You've got a project," she dropped.
Smirk was now visible on my lips. Matagal-tagal narin no'ng nakatanggap ako ng isa. I've never been good at a combat battle pero kung patalinuhan, kayang-kaya 'yan.
Ibinaling ko ang atensiyon sa kaniya. "Okay, I'll handle that," ani ko sa bored na paraan.
Binuksan ko ang isang bottle ng tubig saka ito ininom. Kumuha narin ako ng bagong towel para maligo. The training was too sweaty kaya kailangan talagang maligo after.
Rinig ko parin ang mga salita ni Venice nang sundan niya ako sa banyo ng mga babae.
"Clarity! Nakikinig ka ba?" Sigaw niya sa'kin nang hindi na niya ako matiis. "This is not just an ordinary mission!"
I paused as I looked at her. "I'm sorry. Now, tell me the details so that I can take my shower."
Nasa isip ko parin hanggang ngayon ang sinabing misyon sa'kin ni Venice. Argh! Why do I need to go back to the Philippines?! Ayos na ayos na ang buhay ko rito sa New York pero dahil sa misyon kong 'to, mukhang mapapabalik yata ako. I tried to please Venice na palitan nalang ako but she just said na walang ibang makakagawa ng misyon kun'di ako lang. Well, that's expected.
Venice called me for a meeting kahit madaling araw na. Kahit na labag sa loob ko dahil hindi ako nakatulog ng maayos ay wala parin akong nagawa. Naroon rin ang ibang kasama namin sa misyong ito.
"You're flight will be tomorrow."
My eyes widened. Dahil sa gulat ay napatayo ako. "What?! Bukas kaagad?"
Tumingin ang lahat sa'kin. "You need more time to investigate there, Clarity. You will meet a lot of people kaya kailangan mong pumunta roon ng mas maaga," she explained.
Bagsak kong inupo ulit ang sarili ko at nakinig nalang sa kanila. Wala akong ibang ginawa kundi ang makinig buong meeting. Kahit na gusto kong magsuggest ay hindi nila ako pinapayagan kaya tiklop parin ako.
Umaga na agad ng magising ako. Kasama ko parin silang kumain ng breakfast. Nakasuot narin ako ng damit for my flight.
When we arrived on the airport doon lang binigay ni Venice ang passport at flight ticket ko together with the other documents.
"Kasama mo parin kami pagbalik mo sa Pilipinas. We will be monitoring you from here. Baka magpadala rin kami ng mga tauhan kapag kailangan," saad niya sa'kin.
I started marching my feet but Venice called for my name again.
"Clarity!" Liningon ko siya at naghintay sa sasabihin niya. "Mag iingat ka." And then she smiled bago ko siya talikuran.
Nang maka-apak ako sa eroplano ay inayos ko na ang sarili ko. I looked at the view from the window. I'm gonna miss this place.
When the captain said that we're ready for take off ay kaagad kong isinara ang mga mata ko. This is gonna be a very long flight. So long, New York!
