"I still prefer your cooking. Remember that time you cooked for me and Rin. Best shit I've ever tasted,"

Ah yes. Kakashi did remember that.. he dearly missed those times. He truly did and a part of the copy ninja wished he could go back to when they were just little kids.. before they became genin.. before he lost his father.. Rin.. Minato-sensei and most importantly the man beside him. For a moment the copy ninja allowed himself to reminisce before speaking.

"Well you know... if you come back to the village with me I can make you a few things," The Hatake offered. But the Uchiha only seemed to stiffen at such an offer. "No," Obito mumbled.

"What?"

"No," he said more firmly.

"And why not?" Kakashi persisted, narrowing his eyes just slightly as he stared at the male who avoided his gaze.

"I can't.." he paused as he noticeably gripped his chopsticks almost hard enough to snap them in half. "I can't return to Kahona just yet" he finished as he pushed out his chair and stood up. The mood now officially ruined. "I'm sorry," Obito mumbled as he then turned to leave and by the time Kakashi had tried to stop and ask him why the raven had already left the room. Leaving the silver head sitting alone within the room in complete disbelief..

......

After that Obito didn't return to the room for the rest of the night. Kakashi just sat there, finishing off his food while pondering and mulling over the Uchiha's reaction to his offer to return home. Why? Why not after so many years not come home to the village? Especially after claiming that he missed the silver head just as much as he had missed him. He continued to mull over it even as he finished his food and set his empty plate off to the side on the bedside table before laying down and pulling the covers over his body. A small sting of pain shot through him to once again remind the hatake of his and Obito's steamy shower. He sighed softly and laid down, trying to rest and get some more sleep. Hopefully he would find out what was bothering the Uchiha.. and find out why he didn't want to come home..

Sometime throughout the night he vaguely remembered familiar fingers gently brushing his cheek, tempting the Hatake to open eyes to gaze up at the Uchiha that he knew stood beside the bed he laid asleep in but alas the touch only lasted for mere moments before pulling away and disappearing from the copy ninja's reach. Yet the memory of the warm touch still lingered, gently tickling his skin... and with that dawn broke through dark skies as a new day began enticing the silver head to crack open one of his eyes as light beamed in through the window. "Mghmm..," Kakashi drowsily mumbled as he shifted to sit up, stretching out his limbs as he attempted to fully awaken himself. The lower half of his body still felt sore but it was now more bearable then it had been the previous night.. 'Obito really needs to learn what restraint means,' Kakashi's thoughts then trailed off for a moment before gathering back together as he pushed the covers aside and stood up, 'Speaking of which. Where is Obito?' Wondered the copy ninja as he took a moment to glance around the room, finding that his dirty dishes from last night's dinner were missing, no longer in the place he had last left them before he fell back asleep. He wondered if the Uchiha had come back into the room to collect his dishes as he slept. Most likely.

The silverhead sighed to himself, left feeling awkward and a tad hurt as he remembered Obito's reaction to the offer to return home. At some point Kakashi would have to return to the hidden leaf village.. No matter how many parts of the silver head begged and pleaded to stay here with the Uchiha.. Live a happy peaceful life.. No worry or fear of tragedy.. No wars.. No missions.. Just living simply with the man he loved.. The man he loves... Kakashi still had a duty to the village. He just couldn't leave everybody behind, especially not Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, his beloved students. No matter how much trouble they could be, the Hatake had taken a liking to the three. Hell he was attached. Plus Sasuke and Naruto are going through a rough patch. Just months ago he had to step in and stop them from nearly killing each other. Those two desperately needed to work out their feelings for eachother and until they could manage to do that he needed to be there for them and help them... But he also needed Obito.. and despite how he denied that fact, Kakashi knew very well that throughout the few months spent in the Uchiha's care he had once more got attached to his childhood best friend. The thought of leaving or even losing the male a second time made his stomach twist into painful and uncomfortable knots. Those knots only tightening more as he remembered his very intimate time with the Uchiha just the other day.
