Kakashi's gaze was locked on the 'mystery' man, eyeing him carefully. A pinch of anxiety welling up in his stomach. Where did anxiety come from? As if the question had answered itself, the world seemed to come to a screeching halt as he witnessed the face that laid behind the orange mask. The world just suddenly stopped for the Hatake, it felt like he couldn't breathe as if the air had been completely knocked out of his lungs.
Everything just seemed to come rushing back to him at that very moment. All the memories that had caused the copy ninja such despair in the past just came back like a wave. That day. The day he supposedly lost his best friend. But wait no? What?! He felt so confused, so conflicted as if everything he knew had been a complete lie. No. "What.. kind of genjutsu or trick is this.." Kakashi mumbled breathlessly. It was so hard to breathe, so hard to function, So hard to believe that the man before him was truly his bestfriend. Truly Obito Uchiha. This couldn't be right.
Call him hysterical all you want. But if someone you truly cared about had died years ago, crushed by a boulder right before your eyes was somehow alive right before you. It took Kakashi a long time to accept Obito's death, only to find that he wasn't dead at all.
It hurt. More than the physical pain he was currently experiencing. It was all too much. Kakashi should have been happy, hell ecstatic. But he just couldn't get his hopes up like that, no, not after everything he had been through. This had to be some sort of illusion. This couldn't be real.
"KAKASHI! Calm down!" The silver-haired male seemed to snap out of it when he came to find himself being pinned to the bed by the Uchiha. The Hatake had been so lost in his thoughts that he hadn't realised he had started crying and had stopped breathing. He gasped for air, trying to calm himself down as his eyes wandered to look up at the Uchiha that glared down at him.
What an odd position the two were in. Obito on top of Kakashi, holding his hands above his head. Not weird at all. Kakashi's heart seemed to pick up pace and race at the realization of their positions, why did his heartbeat pick up so suddenly?
When reality fully began to sink in, Kakashi managed to calm down. The pain his body felt fully sinking in, earning a grunt from the silver-haired male. "Sorry," The leaf shinobi almost whispered, but the Uchia didn't miss it. Giving a relieved sigh before letting go of Kakashi's hands, shifting to get off the other male and sit back down in the chair he was originally seated in. "It's alright... You started to freak out. Had I known you would react like that I wouldn't have taken off my mask," The supposed Obito said, giving a light chuckle to lighten the mood. Watching as the silver-haired male sat up once again, letting out a small groan because of the pain that followed the movement.Kakashi's eyes wondered to look down at the bed he had been resting on. Bunching up the sheets in his fists. "Is this some sort of sick joke? Is this real? Am I just dreaming? Or is this some sort of illusion?" The onslaughter of questions from the leaf shinobi catching the Uchiha's full attention, watching as tears continued to fill up Kakashi's eyes. His heart pained at the sight. Had his 'Death' really affected the copy ninja that much?
The raven head took in a deep breath before standing up and taking ahold of the other male's silver locks. Yanking on them slightly to make him look up at the Uchiha. Receiving a yelp of surprise from the Hatake. Their eyes meeting and locking on to each other, not for a moment breaking eye contact.
"I promise. This is no dream or illusion. This is reality. I'm very much alive as you can see," Obito said, releasing his grip on Kakashi's silver locks. Briefly gesturing to himself until he reached over taking ahold of the Hatakes face. Wiping away his remaining tears with his thumbs and in response to such actions, the silver-haired male's breath hitched, only making the Uchiha smile at such a reaction.
Looking at the smile on the Uchiha's face, stirred something within the Hatake and he wasn't sure what. But as he scanned the male's face he took notice of the scars on the right side of his face. He almost reached over to touch them but stopped himself. Still, this could be some sort of illusion, and if it truly was, god how much that would hurt the poor copy ninja.
"Now please turn over. So I can clean the gashes on your back," Obito said softly and more compassionate than all his previous tones.
It took a few moments before Kakashi finally agreed to comply. Being careful in how he turned over as unbearable amounts of pain was still circulating throughout his body, and only seemed to worsen when he moved. He laid down on his stomach, using a pillow to support his head awaiting when the Uchiha would hurry up and clean the wounds on his back.
When that Hatake was turned over, Obito paused for a moment to stare at the over male but just shook his head, lifting the leaf shinobi's undershirt undoing the bandages he had put on the three long lacerations on the males back. They looked painful and were indeed quite painful. These were the wounds that were most worrisome to the Uchiha and made sure to be extra thorough when cleaning them.
To distract himself from the pain that was emitted when the damp cloth Obito had come in contact with the large wounds on his back, Kakashi decided to ask at least one or two questions. "How long have I been out?"
"Three days at most," Obito responded halfheartedly. More focused on the silver head's wounds than anything.
"I see How. How are you alive?" Kakashi asked through painfilled groans. In which Obito figured the other male would ask such a question. He just sighed and just decided to give the copy ninja yet again another simple reply.
.
"Someone saved me from the rumble and healed me," Obito responded lazily. Lacking a lot of the important details. Such as that someone being Madara Uchiha. Someone who was also supposed to be dead.
Kakashi almost grunted at the lack of information but didn't push it. After that, he just fell silent letting Obito do his thing. But not too long after Obito spoke up.
"Sit up please," Obito instructed. Simply Kakashi complied, hissing to himself as he sat up. The movement only causing more stinging pain. "Arms up," Obito instructed once again.
The Hatake once again complying and lifting his arm, this time a bit more hesitant in doing so. After his arms were lifted into the air, Obito grabbed a fresh roll of bandages and moved closer to the other male, wrapping a new length of bandage around Kakashi's torso around the large lacerations. The closeness. It felt so odd, it made the Hatakes heart pound loudly in his chest.
Finally, Obito was finished and moved away. In the process being sure to pull down Kakashi's undershirt over the bandages. "Alright all done," Obito said, almost proudly. As if he was proud of his work, just barely getting a smile from the silver head though it wasn't like anyone could truthfully see the smile. Not with his mask on.
Kakashi shifted and turned around fixing his position on the bed, almost letting a whimper slip out of him. The pain that was surging through him was getting to a point where he felt like he could scream. But chose not to. He'd be fine. He'd survive. Though mentally he wasn't sure. Here was his best friend, someone he cared for deeply. Somehow alive, after so long of believing that he was dead and gone forever. Still, the silver-haired male kept his guard up. This could be some trick, illusion anything. But apart of him knew otherwise.
After cleaning up everything Obito waved a hand in front of the Hatakes face to grab his attention and managed to when doing so. "I'll be back with some food," The Uchia said, almost bluntly, taking the rag, bowl, and old bandages with him out of the room. Leaving Kakashi all alone to his thoughts and questions that were seemingly eating away at him. Was this truthfully Obito? A whole lot of him prayed that this wasn't a dream and a whole lot of him was afraid that it was.-----------------------------------------------------
