We are walking on the road from the stands towards the paddock. Are they really going to get me in the paddock? I wonder. At the next crossing Lando waves us goodbye as he heads right to the paddock. George continues to the left so I follow him. He looks suspiciously around him. I think to prevent any fans from recognising him. After 5 minutes walking, we arrive at the campsite where I am staying. He leads us behind the reception to a hill in the dunes. By my surprise, more drivers and their families gathered here. We sit down where there are not a lot of people around us. Surprisingly, you can see a corner of the track from here.

To break the awkward silence I ask him, "Why are you so intrigued by me?" When I see the look on his face, I can already hit myself in the face again. He looks like a scared puppy that got attacked by a cat while he just wanted to play. "Sorry, just forget that I asked," I immediately reply. "No, no it is okay," he replies. He moves a little so he can look at me better. "I like girls who read," he says. "And when I saw stands full of people all on their phones but one person was reading a book I wanted to know more about this person," he continues. I asked Lando if we could somehow get closer to the stands. If you know him a little, you know how excited he gets at the first sight of adventure, so we went. At the top of the stands, I could see your long blond hair waving in the wind. When you looked up, I saw how beautiful you are and I knew that I just had to talk to you. Luckily, your mom and her boyfriend just stood up so there were free seats for us. You cared more about your book than about us," he laughs.

I look to my lap because I am ashamed of my behaviour towards them. "I am sorry. It is just that we are all humans you know. And I can imagine it must be quite annoying to have everyone asking for you autograph all the time. I mean, it probably does not even end up on their bedroom wall, just in some box on the attic. And for what, so that they can say that they have George Russell's autograph just in case he becomes world champion one day? It all sounds a bit too much to me, I would rather just enjoy the race." I give him my honest opinion.

I look up from my lap because I am afraid, he left me. He is just staring at me. "What do I have something on my face?" I ask while touching my face. "Yes, you have a little something there," he replies as he leans in. His thumb touches the corner of my mouth and the rest of his hand is resting under my chin. The next thing I know I can feel his lips on mine. George Russell is kissing me. I am kissing George Russell. How did this happen?!

The voices in my head tell me to stop thinking and just enjoy this moment. But it is already too late. George leans back, takes away his hand. He apologises. "I am sorry, I should not have kissed you just like that so out of the blue. Normally I do not act like that," he rattles, blushes and leans even further back getting ready to stand up. "Wait!" I shout a little too loud. I look around to see if people are looking at us but nobody really noticed. I tell him that I enjoyed the kiss but that I was caught by surprise too. Smilingly I tell him that boys do not kiss me after they met me just an hour ago. He smiles and sits down again. He looks a bit more relaxed now. I hope he will try to kiss me again. "So, are you still going to tell me what your book is about?" he asks.

Bummer, he is not going to kiss me. I decide to fully be myself and return the question, "Do you really want to know the story or should I make something up?" He grins. "I am a man of truth if you haven't noticed. As I am genuinely interested, I would like to know the real story please," he says with a very formal voice and then burst out in laughter. I laugh with him and then tell him what the book is about.
