Practice did not go too bad, I ended up in 14th position. Even though I could not stop thinking about my selfish behaviour. I totally forgot that she was here with her mom and bonus father but I should have encouraged her more to go to them when she mentioned it. When I see her again, I will apologise for it.

I look in my mirror as the mechanics roll the car back into the pit box. I can not see her. Fear that she ran away from me, that me and my life had already got too much for her, spreads through my body. Desperately, I look in my other mirror. A sigh of relief leaves my lungs when I see her blond locks. I get out of the car and give my team high fives as a walk towards her. "Hey," I hear myself say. She turns around to look at me. She was so focussed on all the screens on the wall. "Hey," she replies. I do not know how to behave around her, should I hug her or is she not ready for that kind of open acts of affection? Or maybe she does not want to hug me because I am swea...

My thoughts are interrupted because she hugs me. Surprised as I am, it takes me a few seconds before I wrap my arms around her. "Do not overthink already you silly," she laughs to my chest. I smile and hug her a little tighter. I ask her if she wants to go to lunch with me or if she wants to go back to her family. She agrees to the lunch but tells me she will go back afterwards. While we walk towards the paddock restaurant, I promise myself to apologise to her for my behaviour earlier on.

We arrive at the restaurant and walk to the buffet. I pay for her meal too and as we search for a table, Lando waves at us. Quickly, I glance at Mauve to see if she wants to eat with them or alone with me but she is already on her way to their table. Like a puppy, I follow. Shit, she already has me under control.

"So, this is your new chick huh," Alex begins as he stands up to shake Mauve's hand over the table. I give him a scathing look before worriedly looking at Mauve to see her reaction. However, she keeps surprising me. "Nice to meet you too Albon," she replies as she shakes his hand and smiles. "Quite a feisty little lady George," he says to me as they both sit down. During the lunch we talk about several things and we laugh a lot. It is not weird at all that Mauve is here with us, it feels like she belongs by my side.

We store our lunch trays in the dishwashing trolley and wave at Alex and Lando as they walk off. I still need to apologise to her, so we walk a bit further and I pull her behind a tent so we can talk in private. She however has other plans. She pushes me against the truck next to the tent, leans on her toes and kisses me. The power she has over me immediately make my knees feel weak and I forget what I wanted to say.

She breaks off the kiss and asks me if she will see me after qualifying, I nod. When she wants to walk away, my brain panics because there was something that I needed to say but I forgot what it was. I grab her arm to stop her. "Eehh, there was something I needed to tell you..." I start. She curiously looks at me and encourages me to tell it. "I am sorry about earlier; I should not have forced you to come in the paddock to watch Free Practice in the pit box. That was very selfish of me and I promise that I will give more thought to my actions in the future." is my apology. She lifts my hanging head up with her tiny hands. When I look at her face she smiles. "Oh, you silly George. I would not have stayed if I did not want to. It was a pleasure to watch from the pit box and I hope one day I will again." she says. Now I smile at her too and I can not help myself but hug her tight, lift her up and give her a big kiss.

She waves at me as she walks towards the gates to exit the paddock. Hopefully, I will see her tonight.
