"Lily?" I hear. I mumble a "here" and the teacher moves on. I've been thinking all morning about Gabrielle.

"Hey," someone says to me, interrupting my thoughts and snapping me back to reality.

"Hey," I whisper back.

"Can I borrow a pen? I'm out," they ask, and I look around behind me, to the person who had tapped my shoulder. His eyes glistened, and I smiled.

"Sure," I whisper back, passing him one.

"Thanks," he replied, smiling. His smile has to be the cutest thing I'd ever seen. I frown though, because I'd never seen him before.

"You're new here, aren't you?" I ask, and he nods.

"Oliver!" The teacher calls out and he grins.

"Here!" He replies. I chuckle quietly.

"Well, welcome Oliver," I greet and he smiles.

"Thanks, Lily." he replies. I simply smile, and turn around.

"So you like him, huh?" Jen chuckled, and I shake my head.

"Who?" I ask, looking at her innocently.

"The new guy, Oliver." Jen states, winking at me. I roll my eyes.

"Why would you think that?" I ask Jen.

"You've been staring at him all lunch break." Jen giggles, and I blush majorly.

"No I haven't!" I deny, but she rolls her eyes.

"Shut up!" I say, playfully punching her shoulder. She giggles, and I blush, helplessly.

I glare at her, but she just smiles at me.

"I think one day you're going to get married...and maybe even have.." Jen blabbers.

"Jen!" I groan, and she laughs. I look down at my lunch food. I think it's time I started making my own lunches. I hear someone loudly clear their throat behind me. I sit up, looking around, expectantly. The person before my eyes, smiles nervously.

"Uh, can I sit down here?" She asks. It's Gabrielle.

"Uh, um, sure.." I mumble, smiling at her. She grins.

"Thanks!"

I look over to Jen, who raises her eyebrows as if to ask

"Why is she here?"

I shrug, helplessly, but frown. Oh well.

"So, have you met the new guy?" Gabrielle asks, quietly. I nod, smiling to myself. Jen giggles, and I roll my eyes.

"Ignore Jen, she's uh..insane.." I prompt, and Gabrielle smiles, unsure.

"I uh..like your outfit," Gabrielle practically whispers.

"Thanks," I reply, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn't special. It didn't stand out. I should be the one complimenting Gabrielle. But I didn't. I smiled awkwardly at both of them, and continued to eat, nervously. Why had Gabrielle started fresh? She knew I could never forgive her. She hasn't mentioned it, maybe she wants to forget. I don't know. I sigh.

"Lily!" I hear a yell in my ear from behind. I jump out of my seat, squealing. I hear an unfamiliar laugh, and look up to see, the one and only, Oliver. The new kid, had scared me. At recess. On the first day. Nice one, Oliver. He chuckles, and puts his hand out to help me up. I gladly take it, rolling my eyes.

"Oh, great one Oliver. Make Lily jump out of her chair, squealing," I sarcastically say.

"Call me Olly," he simply replies, and I laugh.

"Fine, Olly. What was that for?" I say, grinning.

"Just felt like it," he admits, shrugging. He was already treating me like someone close.

"I'll get revenge, karma will strike like a python. I swear." I promise, and he chuckles, rolling his eyes.

"Check out these muscles! You think you can beat me?!" He jokes, and I laugh, raising my eyebrows.

"What muscles?" I joke, winking and he laughs.

Jen wiggles her eyebrows at me, and I blush big time.

"Hah, Lily, seems you're going a bit red," Olly points out, and I blush even more, because he's noticed. I roll my eyes. The bell rings, just in time to save me, and I let out a relieved sigh and walk away, saying goodbye to Olly.

"Wait, what class do you have?"

Olly asks, I look at my timetable.

"SOSE." I reply.

"Me too!"

Great.
