Today the sun paints the sky orange and purplish and I could see the beautiful evening from the big floor to ceiling window. I've been living alone this past two years, but it would be my first time in this house. Sitting down with a cup of steaming coffee, I start reading the analysis of income and expenditures, the original direction and flow of the investments. I do need to have a basic idea of what's going on in the company. I could see the reports are kinda missing and I'll need to work hard to retrieve that. We really couldn't expect someone who's a spy to do his work properly, can we?

"I miss your tanned skin, your sweet smile
So good to me, so right
And how you held me in your arms that September night
The first time you ever saw me cry"

My ringtone shook me out of my intense concentration. The sudden sound in the so quiet house made me jump out of fright. Calming down the heartbeat that has leapt up I pick up the phone. It was Vihaan.

"Hello?"

"Were you sleeping? Why does your voice sound a bit hoarse?"

"No, I haven't spoken for 4-5 hours, maybe that's why it is like that? So how did the contract signing go?"

"Hmm, it was a bit complicated and I can't give you the details right now. There are still people around me. Did you have your dinner?"

"No... I was just going to cook now. It's my first time living here, all alone," I said, now sipping water from my bottle.

"Why, you scared?" He laughed for a while.

"I'm not, it's just I'm not used to it. Did you eat yet?"

"I need to go to a dinner meeting. The kind where your appetite worsens and headache increases. And I want to eat that chocolate cake of yours. Why didn't you wait for me?"

I laughed for a good while and then said
"It's still sitting on the dining table, waiting for you. We will eat it together. Look how much I can do for you, even resisting the chocolate cake." I said, now in the kitchen.

"Sure sure, I'll be back soon. Go on cook something for yourself, I need to go now."

"Yeah, but eat something before going to that headache-inducing dinner meet."

He laughed and we hung up.

I realise I'm really hungry. So I make myself an omelette and fried rice. I ate while watching a few episodes of the drama, I always love to watch. The name of the drama was "You are my glory". It's a Chinese Drama, featuring my favourite actors and the adapted from the novel by one of my favourite authors. Everything is so sweet and lovely, as soon as I start to watch I get immersed in it. It's one of my top favourite shows, and I am planning to binge-watch it with Vihaan one day.

After watching 2 episodes I feel sleepiness kicking in. I want to let him know that I'll be going to sleep now. So I texted him goodnight but the message showed a single tick, signifying that message was sent but not delivered. Might have switched off his phone. It was already past 11 pm. I rub my tired eyes, I glance at the coffee table where I've put down my laptop and files. Should I hide the files away? He isn't coming back today, anyway. But, what if I don't get time tomorrow morning and it was discovered? So I just place the laptop on top of the files. Being out of sight would be enough, I guess.

In the wee hours of the night, I felt a pair of hands holding me gently from behind. At first, I was so frightened but his scent lingered in the air surrounding me. Still half asleep I turned to face him. He saw the moment and opened his eyes.

"Did I wake you up?" Voice so soft, as if melting snow.

"I just felt your hands around me. I was so scared." I tried to be fierce but my voice was sleepy, so it turned into a whine.
