Vihaan's POV

It's been a few days since I met my uncle. The information about the police inspector, who handled the case was found out. He is a retired official now, in his 70s, fortunately still in the city. We met and talked and I told him about the e-mails. He told me that it is indeed a punishable offence under Section 66A of IT act, 2008.

Under this act "any electronic mail or electronic mail message to cause annoyance or inconvenience or to deceive or to mislead the addressee or recipient about the origin of such messages, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and with fine."

At first, the evidence wasn't conclusive enough, but with time and 3 to 4 such emails, I could successfully complain. I asked him about the person who crashed into my father's car, the one who was driving under influence. But he couldn't disclose any of such information, other than his name, Satvik Singh. Satvik Singh is too common of a name. It would surely take a bit of time since my resources are already split. Finding of the unknown emailer. Investigation regarding Daksh and then this. The officer told me to look at the emails again, maybe I could find some clue. Following the general pattern, he was very sure that this person is my acquaintance. But there was a perplexing point, there is no actual reason to do this. Why would anybody do this? Especially if they are my acquaintances.

I'm sitting in my office and looking at all the emails trying to find anything that I may have missed the last time.

*Knock knock*

"Come in," I said, breaking my reverie.

I see Lekh coming in with some files.
"Sir, here's the general information about Mr Daksh Singh of Quanta group." He said. I nodded and stretched out my hands to look over the data.

It was pretty basic profiling. Although I don't think something's wrong I dutifully go through the information.

Name: Daksh Singh
.......
.......

Age: 28

........
.........

Family
Father: No information
Mother: No information
Guardian: Satvik Singh

School: xyz
College: zyx

.......
........
........

Wait, Satvik Singh? My breathing stopped for a moment. I quickly calmed myself down.

"Why is there no information about his parents?" I asked. My voice sounded unnatural.

"Sir, I further checked, Mr Daksh used to live in an orphanage. He had an older brother but he wasn't yet of age to take care of his brother. As soon as he was 18 he took the custody of his younger brother..."

"Is it Satvik Singh?" I asked.

"Yes." Lekh nodded.

"Okay, you can go. Thank you for your work." I said.

Is it really Daksh's doing? Is he out there thinking of revenge? I immediately call the police officer in charge of my complaint about emails. I provided him with all the information regarding Daksh. Including our history of the dispute. While they were ready to investigate, I am restless.

I want to talk. Talk to him. Would he even confess? Ah! It's headache-inducing. My hands are already on the sides of my head, clutching tightly as if trying to hold the explosion that's threatening to happen.

I try to remember all the things that happened in my college. He was always the one competing with me. Whether it be sports or academics. My personality is quite cold. While the edges were softened in the last few years, during my college I was very withdrawn from people. Truthfully I never truly paid attention to him. I guess it's because of me that he targeted Manya too.
