It's weird how humans are able to easily get used to something. Scary even. Not even a few weeks had gone by since I became this sort of doctor for Hanma's gang. Hell, I didn't know if it was even his gang, or if he was just some type of captain. Not that I cared anyway, and in all honesty, I tried my hardest not to think about it. Not to think about Hanma. Because every time I did my body heated up recalling the dream I had, which annoyed me. But back to the topic...

I had had this 'position' in the gang for no longer than 14 days and I was already used to it. I would get picked up or just dropped by whenever they told me to, patch someone up or answer idle consultations, and normally I would just leave and go back to either my apartment or back to the library of my uni to keep studying. Sometimes though, it wasn't efficient. I ended up losing a lot of time going from one place to another, so I had lately been trying out to stay there to study. And although it obviously didn't look like the best place, it somehow wasn't the worst either. Surprisingly, nobody bothered me any more than to ask me things about their health, except a few of them that were friendly to me. Although to be fair, the ones that still looked at me with distrustful and creepy looks didn't interact with me so... In short, nobody really cared if I stayed or not, and in the end, it would just mean they got to use me more. Of course, Hanma didn't give a shit either. He didn't pay attention to me at all, and I preferred it that way for all the obvious reasons, dream included. But even then, no matter how hard I tried to avoid him, I still couldn't help but feel ashamed and hot whenever I knew he was around.

And this time was no different. I was minding my business, my whole attention on my pharmacology book when my focus was broken by a name that some of the members around me pronounced.

"Hanma!" they all greeted the tall man who didn't pay any attention to any of them.

And it was involuntary, despite how hard I didn't want to notice him, my head still turned to him. But the forming blush in my cheeks completely died out when I noticed his swollen hand that dripped blood as he walked. In fact, his body had many bloodstains that immediately made me grab my things to patch him like I was supposed to. But then I realized the blood wasn't his and thus it must have been from a poor soul that happened to cross his path. Probably not that poor, and probably was part of another gang. He then got into his office, not even calling me to look at his probably cracked knuckles.

It could have been a good thing, just what I wanted. I was given the option to continue with my studying as if nothing happened and forget about him. And I tried, but I obviously couldn't. I had only one job here, which would be my future job anyway. If as a future doctor I decided to ignore someone's wounds, no matter how small, and even if it was from a jerk who literally forced me to do this like Hanma, I wouldn't be able to be proud of my future title.

So with a sigh, I grabbed some of the medical tools and knocked onto his office. I breathed in once and prepared myself to only think of his hurt fist before he let me in.

"What do you want," he asked me tonelessly. As an answer, I just pointed at his bruised and bloody 'punishment' hand. He rolled his eyes and slightly clicked his tongue with scorn "I don't need it. I've had it worse" he dismissed me.

"But you didn't have me before. So let me do my job" I said before he could throw me out, trying to convince him.

"Jesus fuck, you're so annoying" he complained with a groan as he pushed himself away from his desk.

He continued to sit down, manspreading on his chair, but left me room between him and the desk for me to take a look at his hand. 'Think about puppies, think about puppies. Puppies are cute. Kittens are adorable' I repeated on my mind to get away from any memory of my dream as I walked in front of him.
