A Fruitful Love ; The Potter Twins

1. Prologue

When Lily Potter was pregnant, she gave birth to twins. A boy, who she called Harry, and a girl, who she named Elena. Lily and James were both very happy with their little family.

But then, tragedy struck. The evil wizard, Voldemort, heard about a prophecy of how he could be defeated. He did not want this to happen, so he knew he must kill Harry Potter.

It was a peaceful night, and the twins were upstairs in their bedroom. They slept in separate cots, but they were pushed next to each other. The two babies were fast asleep when a loud crash woke them up.

Voldemort came striding in through the front door. James tried to stop him, but he was no match for Voldemort. Once their father was killed, Voldemort started coming up the stairs to find Harry.

The twins were both crying in their cots, when Voldemort came into the bedroom. He quickly looked to work out which twin was Harry, then he aimed his wand and fired the killing curse.

But something went wrong and the curse rebounded. Voldemort was dead, but so were Lily and James.

A short while later, Hagrid came into the bedroom, and he found the two babies still crying in their cots. Hagrid picked them both up and wrapped them each in a blanket. Then he put one under each arm and walked out to where his motorbike was parked.

Hagrid carefully placed the two babies into the sidecar, then climbed onto his motorbike. He kicked the starter pedal and the engine came to life. The loud noise seemed to soothe the crying babies, and put them both to sleep.

A few hours later, Hagrid landed in Privet Drive. As he came to a stop, he spotted Professor Dumbledore, along with Professor McGonagall and Arthur Weasley.

"Good evening," said Hagrid, as he climbed off the motorbike.

"Ah, Hagrid," said Dumbledore. "How are the little ones?"

"They're fine. Slept peacefully the whole way down here," said Hagrid.

"So now we just need to decide what to do with them," said McGonagall.

"I've spoken to the Dursleys already," said Dumbledore. "They would only be able to look after one of the twins."

"Then what of the other?" McGonagall asked.

"That is why I asked Arthur here to join us. The Weasleys will look after the other twin," said Dumbledore.

"Yes, we already manage fine with the six boys, and another one on the way," said Arthur. "So an extra baby shouldn't be any bother."

"Did you have any preference as to which twin?" Dumbledore asked.

Arthur Weasley looked down at the two babies carefully. "Well, we already have six boys, but I've always wanted a daughter," he said. "So, if it's okay, I would prefer taking Elena."

"A fine choice," said Dumbledore. "So that is settled, Harry will go to the Dursleys, and Elena will live with the Weasleys."

Arthur took Elena back home with him, and introduced her to the rest of the family. Molly was pleased to have another girl in the house. A few months later, she gave birth to another little girl called Ginny.

As they got older, Elena and Ginny became the best of friends. They played together and had lots of fun away from all the boys.

The Weasleys had waited until Elena was six years old before they explained to her that she was not their daughter. She did not understand at first, but as she got older she suddenly realised that was why she had dark brown hair when everyone else in the family had red hair. After that, they tried to get her to call them 'Molly and Arthur', instead of mum and dad. Elena tried, but it felt weird, so she mostly still called them mamma and papa.

Dumbledore came back a few times over the years, and he introduced the Dursleys to the Weasleys. Vernon Dursley did not like the Weasleys very much. In his opinion they were very strange and peculiar. In turn Arthur thought that Vernon was also very strange, and quite rude. But the two men agreed to pretend they were friendly for the good of the children. They could both see that the twin bond between Harry and Elena was very important.

Harry and Elena grew to have a very strong bond between them. They wanted to spend more time together, but things with their families made that difficult. So instead they write letters to each other all the time.

That is why they were overjoyed when it was finally time to go to Hogwarts, as it meant they could spend all their time together.

Soon Harry, Elena, and Ron made a new friend when they met Hermione. And so the four of them became best friends and had lots of fun adventures together. But also there were difficult times too, because of the threat of lord Voldemort returning.

These threats came to fruition in the twins' fourth year. Harry was picked to compete in the Tri wizard tournament, and at the end, Voldemort was resurrected.
