"What's wrong with you?" Gemma asks, raising her eyebrow, when Harry lets himself fall onto the sofa next to Zain with a huff. "Weren't you on a date?"

"Yea," Harry says, glancing at Zain out of the corner of his eyes but Zain isn't even paying attention. "But he was a prick, my burger wasn't nice and he didn't want to swap with me."

Gemma laughs, grinning at him. "You're so spoiled, wow. Just cause Zain will give you whatever you want doesn't mean every boy will."

"Zain doesn't give me whatever I want," Harry glares at her, feeling his cheeks heat.

"Sure," Gemma snorts, turning back to the telly and switching channels.

She was so stubborn. Zain only sometimes gave Harry what he wanted and even then Harry always had to ask and ask. He kicks his legs out and watches Gemma's show for a moment before realising that he has no clue what was happening and even less interest in finding out. And he needed to get homework done or Mum would be cross.

"Zain," Harry says, leaning against Zain's side. "Can you help me with English?"

"You're just lazy," Zain says without looking up from his phone, still texting someone. Harry hopes it's not Jackie again, he was spending way too much money texting her all the time. "You can do it on your own."

Harry shoots Gemma a pointed look. She isn't paying attention but he's still right that Zain doesn't just give him whatever he wants.

"Please?" Harry asks, poking Zain's thigh. "At least come upstairs to keep me company. Gemma's always watching rubbish."

"You're rubbish," Gemma says without looking.

Harry flips her off, poking Zain again. "Please?"

"Kay," Zain shrugs, still looking at his phone. "But I'm not doing your homework for you."

"I don't want that," Harry pouts, kicking Gemma's legs out of the way so he can pass. She kicks him in the butt because she is annoying but he can be the bigger person and walk away.

"Was it just the burger?" Zain asks, falling into Harry's bed while Harry starts pulling out his notebook and trying to remember what exactly the assignment had been. "You aren't that picky."

"Well," Harry shrugs. "He didn't wanna share or swap or even let me try, that's weird. But also he doesn't like Pink Floyd."

"Really? Weird," Zain says, grabbing his phone whine it buzzes. "Mum said I have to be over later to help with shopping for Christmas because Doniya is only coming home tomorrow. She wants to buy all the dry ingredients and stuff for the freezer and all that. Wanna come with?"

"Sure," Harry shrugs. "Anything to save me from homework. Boring. And I can help you carry everything, you lazy fuck."

"Good," Zain says, not raising to the bait.

Harry sighs and grabs the nearest pen, tapping it on the empty page a few times, sighing and pulling grimaces.

But Zain doesn't take pity on him, still distracted by his phone. Harry rolls his eyes and properly tries to focus, scratching his nose.

He doesn't know why Gemma thinks Zain always gives in to him. He wasn't even getting support with his homework and Harry was the one helping him with the groceries later, not the other way round.

He sighs again, loudly, just in case, and tries to remember what he knows about sonnets.
