(UPDATED)

(Elliot's POV)

It was a crisp spring Monday morning. I was sitting at my messy writers desk trying to get ideas ever since I woke up. I mean I love writing, it's my favorite thing it's what I'm known for but jeez the thinking that comes behind such work hurts me.

I twirled my duck feather with my hand on my chin trying to think of an idea. Nothing, my head went blank I couldn't even make a romance I was so over flooded with white static. I let out a sigh and looked at my red jacket, I looked back to my book, and back to the jacket, back to the book, and back to the jacket, like I was insane.

Finally, I realized maybe if I walked around town and talked to some pelican town citizens I could get an idea! I stood up and closed the book and put the duck feather on my wood table.

I walked to the other side of my cabin and took my jacket off the hanger and threw it on over my shoulders. Letting out one last sigh, I walked out.

A gust of warm air with a little bit of coldness hit my face and sand was flying in groups. It was windy and a bit chilly not how I liked it but it worked.

I walked over to the dock and watched out into the blue obys. I watched the blue waves finally defrost from our cold winter. I took a big breath in and let it out letting the wind push my hair and go under my clothes.

"Heya lad, watching the ocean?"

Willy walked out and I turned around in a worry.

"Hell will, please, warn me next time."

I said turning back to the blue seas, he came and stood next to me, his gray hair flying in the wind.

"What' ca doin out here? Arent ye workin on ya book?"

He asked in his heavy'ish accent.

"Couldnt think. My mind just washed over itself"

I let a breath out and watched the wave crash by the near dock. It was almost like how I explained what has been happening in my head ever since 8am.

"Oh I'm sure you got tons of ideas lad!"

He said cheerfully patting my back as I let a chuckle out.

"Thanks willy, but, once your a writer not everything can be easy."

I cringed at the truth but let it drift away with the wind.

"Why don't you stop by the town? I'm sure the library can give ya some ideas lad! What typa you lookin for? Mystery, horror, fish'in?"

I shook my head and laughed "romance" I said as he laughed like a sailor.

"I should've guessed, well, stop by some folks in town alright? Before all the good fish run away I should be gett'in to fish'in!"

He said as I nodded.

"See you around Willy"

"See you around Elliot!"

I walked away from Willy and stepped onto the warm sand. I could see Sam and Sebastian on the bridge. I'm not so close with em but hell I should atleast try?

I walked to the bridge and I didn't even have to stop to talk, sam already booked a reservation for a conversation.

"Elliot! How's the book!"

Sam said not looking away from his gameboy, I stopped and looked at the two of them. They're interested in my book?

Besides them being interested im kinda glad he asked, made it a easier conversations I suppose.
