The restaurant's lights were dim, such a place would remind you of a fancy restaurant, but the food and drinks were at a reasonable price. "If you don't mind me asking, I'd like to know your name." The woman who seemed to be younger than Mona asked, making the astrologist look up from her menu. "Mona, what's yours?" It wouldn't hurt to make some conversation during their meal, she thought, gently placing the menu back in its place.
"Sangonomiya Kokomi, but you can just call me Kokomi for short." She nods, looking down at the table. "Where are you from, Mona?" The young woman looked back up at Kokomi, a nervous chuckle escaping from her. "It's.. complicated." Kokomi nods, understanding the girl wasn't comfortable with giving out her personal information.
The meals Kokomi ordered arrived, making Mona's mouth water from the pleasant smell. In fact, Mona hasn't had anything to eat since she woke up here. When she looked at the menu, none of the food nor drinks looked familiar to her. Just where was she exactly? This clearly wasn't 𝘩𝘦𝘳 world.
"Excuse me, if you don't mind me asking." Kokomi takes a bite from her meal, moaning from how nice it tasted and felt in her mouth. She quickly grabbed a napkin, wiping off her face as she looked up at the astrologist. "No please, ask away." Mona guessed that was her queue to ask. "Just where am I exactly?" The pink haired woman gave Mona a confused look as she used the chopsticks to get more food. "Inazuma, a restricted place to foreigners such as yourself. Makes me wonder how someone like you got into this region in the first place."
From the looks of it, it seemed Mona was not in the world she was once familiar with. The thought of trying to get back home made her sigh in frustration. "Hey, if you want, I can show you around our village." She smiles at the young woman, reassuring Mona that she'll be safe around her. "You're welcome here after all." A simple nod was enough to get the point across as Mona agreed to having Kokomi as her tour guide. "Lovely, now let us finish our meal."
------------------------------------------------
"So, how do you like the village so far?" Kokomi questions, turning her gaze to the woman beside her. "It seems this place is pretty wealthy." Mona comments, getting a 'are you serious?' gaze from Kokomi. "I nearly showed the whole village to you and all you have to say is "it's pretty wealthy", like-" She was cut off by the astrologist's laughter. "Come now, my home town would be a playhouse for you people." The smaller woman's eyes softened, giving the girl a soft smile. Mona gave her a confused look, wondering what she was smiling at. "Huh, did I say something wrong?" She asks, worried about her choice of words. "No, it's just the first time I've seen you feel relieved. During our time here, it seemed you was uncomfortable and confused by what was going on."
The taller woman nervously sighed, placing her hand near her heart. "Oh dear, I thought I did something I wasn't suppose to." This time, Kokomi laughed, giving Mona a sense of happiness. "Honestly, you should have seen the look on your face, Mona." Another chuckle erupted from her, making the astrologist let out a quiet giggle. "Am I that horrid?" Kokomi's eyes widened as she gently slapped Mona's shoulder. "Of course not, don't speak of yourself in such a way!" Mona gently pushed her newly made friend away, jokingly apologizing for what she said.
"Ms. Kokomi, you're coming with us." Both of the girls stop joking around, turning around to see two guards in front of them. "Excuse me? Can't you see I'm busy at the moment?" She replies, crossing her arms. One of the guards shakes his head before replying back. "Apologies, but it's master's orders." Kokomi's eyes widened, glancing over at Mona before looking back at the two men. Mona had already guessed the girl was scared to death after hearing the name 'master'.
"Oh, and we're bring her with us." They glance over at Mona as her eyes widened as well. "What? No, you're not taking her!" The younger girl yells, getting in front of Mona, indicating to protect her. Mona didn't understand what was going on but Kokomi's behavior was enough to make Mona's heart race with fear.
One of the guards grabs ahold of Kokomi's arm, forcing her away from the astrologist as she screams in fear. The other guard looks at Mona, reaching for her. "Mona, run, get away!" Kokomi says in distress. The astrologist turns around, ready to run for her life until she was snatched by her arm, landing on the guard's chest. "There's no point in fighting, let's go." He says as the other guard nodded. "No! Stop, please! Take me, let Mona go!" The smaller girl cries out, tears streaming down her face from the panic that built up inside her. Mona's heart ached as she watched her friend pleaded for her life to be spared.
Both the guards dragged them away, up towards the castle that was in the distance, ignoring Kokomi's cries for help. Mona didn't know what would happen once they entered the castle, but it was enough to convince her to fight for freedom.
------------------------------------------------
Their struggles weren't enough as they were both forced onto their knees. Both of them were forced to look up at a man who laid there, perfectly on his throne. Kokomi's sobs was the only sound filling the room for a long moment, until the man finally sat up, glaring down at them. "Sir, we brought the two girls that you requested." The guard that held Kokomi by the hair said.
The man on the throne sighed, making Mona shiver, not knowing what would happen to both her and Kokomi. "You," he points to Kokomi with a deadly glare. "I heard from others that you let this woman into our village without any documentation, is this true?" Kokomi glared at the man, showing anger and resentment towards him. "So what if I did? Are you going to kill me like the rest of the girls who treated outsiders with kindness?" The guard pulled harder onto her hair, making her whine in pain as she struggled to get away from his harsh grip.
The man scoffed, getting up from his throne as he began walking down the stairs. That's when Mona truly started to panic, begging for whatever god in this world to save her. "It seems to me you have yet to learn some manners when speaking to your master." He replies, finally reaching the bottom of the stairs. "I have no reason to look up to you." The man crouches down to Kokomi's level, a wicked grin placed on his face. "And why so?" He questions, grabbing onto her chin, making sure she kept eye contact. "Because.. you, Scaramouche, are a monster."
A loud slap echoed throughout the room before Kokomi whined in pain. Mona's breathing increased as she looked over at her friend who's cheek was now a bright red. "Take her away." The man, whose name was supposably Scaramouche, said. "Stop! Let me go, I'm sorry!" She screamed in agony as she tried to free herself.
The door slammed close, leaving only Scaramouche and Mona. She looked away as the man crouched in front of her, chuckling as he noticed how uneasy the girl was. That chuckle was more than evil, it was foul, ungodly. He gently caressed her cheek, making her flinch from how terrified she was. "What do you want from me.." She whispered, not able to keep a normal volume, afraid she won't be able to speak if she did.
"Hm, that's a good question. What 𝙙𝙤 I want from you, hmm?" He replied, turning the question around. Mona could tell the man was messing with her, but she wasn't able to answer back. He sat up, sighing as he wiped off his hands. "Take her away as well, do not treat her rough or I'll kill you with my own two hands." The guard nodded, yanking the young woman up by her feet as he dragged her out of the room.
