"Holy shit, are you hurt?" Mona questioned, wrapping her hands around the cold bars.
Kokomi shakes her head in response as her eyes began to water. "I never thought I'd see you again." Kokomi's voice cracked as she slowly wiped the tears falling down from her eyes.
Mona's eyes also threatened to tear up when she looked at how broken her friend looked. A hidden mist of anger filled her heart, something she couldn't recognize currently. Though, she knew that once she seen that man again, she'd be the one to attack first without hesitation.
"Let's get you out of here, love." The girl said, pulling on the handle bars. "Mona, that's not going to work- Do you have a key of some sort?" The other girl questioned as Mona's cheeks heated up with embarrassment.
Mona takes the time to look around the cold room, hoping there would be something for her to unlock the door. "I have something that could be useful," Kokomi says, taking out a hairpin. "Here, try this." Mona reaches into the cell, grabbing the hairpin, bending it apart.
"Seems you have experience unlocking with hairpins." Kokomi joked, quietly laughing to ease up the tension. The other shakes her head in disagreement, chuckling as well. "I've only done this a few times because I'd always somehow lock myself out of my own house."
Kokomi lets out an honest laugh as she covered her mouth. Mona found the little gesture adorable as her cheeks heated up again, though this time, it wasn't from embarrassment. After a few minutes, the cell door finally opened, relief running through Mona's body.
The pink haired girl quickly ran out, wrapping her arms around the other. "Woah, I thought you said you was fine." Kokomi's eyes watered, little sniffles coming from her. Mona pressed her hand around the girl's back as a gesture to calm her down. "Let's go, we don't have time." She said, Kokomi pulling away from her, nodding quietly as she wiped away the salty tears.

"Do you think he'll find us?" Kokomi asked once they escaped the village, which was surprisingly easy. Mona let out a groan, not wanting to think about what happened back there. "That son of a bitch is going to get it once I see him." She stated, bailing her fist in the air. The other girl chuckled, slowly grabbing Mona's hand, pulling it down. "I'll help you when that time comes."
They both stared into each other's eyes for a moment until Kokomi looked away, nervously laughing. "I doubt, you could barely hold your own when the guards got you." Mona joked, playfully hitting the girl's shoulder. "Listen! I was just caught off guard, that's all!" She whined, rubbing her shoulder.
"Really? You was a crying mess back there-" Now it was Mona who got hit on the shoulder. "Yeah, why didn't you use your ability back there then?" The astrologist stopped, giving the girl a questioning look. Abilities? What in the world is this young lady talking about?
Kokomi got the hint and let out an "oh" in response. "Wait, so you're saying you don't have an ability?" Mona shrugged, not really understanding what her friend was talking about. "I never heard of people having abilities.. do you have one?" She questioned, looking over at her. Kokomi's lips curled into a smile as she grabbed her hand. Mona gasped at the sudden wet feeling in her hand. "Open it." The girl said as Mona slowly opened her hand, showing a flower made out of water. Little droplets of water dripped onto her hand before disappearing completely, along with the flower.
"How did you do that?" The astrologist asked, looking up to meet Kokomi's eyes. "It's my ability. It can be taught through special training." Mona raised her eyebrow. "Special training?" Kokomi nodded, grabbing the other girl's hand as they began to walk. "Growing up, you'll be asked what ability you would want to learn. There are 7 elements you can learn." She stopped momentarily, picking off a white flower from the ground, giving it to Mona. "These elements include Anemo, Pyro, Cryo, Geo, Electro, Hydro and Dendro."
Mona looks at the flower, pressing it against her nose to smell the faint scent of it's contents. "So I'm guessing you took classes for Hydro, is that correct?" Kokomi smiled, nodding rather quickly. "Yes, that's correct. Have you never taken classes?" She takes a minute to scan Mona's clothing. "Did you grow up poor here? Taking element classes are extremely expensive, maybe that's why you haven't learned about abilities."
Mona tensed slightly, laughing nervously as she began to squeeze her own arm. "Yeah.. uh, I did grow up in a poor environment." The fact she had to lie to her only friend in this world made her heart ache. It was for her own good though, she didn't want to tell Kokomi.. not yet anyway.
Kokomi nods, playing quietly with her fingers until she had an amazing idea. "Hey, how about I teach you about the world of Hydro?" Mona stopped, ears perked up as she turned to the girl. Could Kokomi really teach her? Would it even work? She's not from this world in the first place. "No, that's not needed. Don't waste your time with me-" The girl scoffed, grabbing onto Mona's arm. "Absolutely not. If you want to beat Scaramouche's ass, you need to have some sort of ability!"
Shit.
She's right.
"You're telling me he has an ability as well?" Kokomi nods, gripping tighter onto her arm. "Yes! He does! A very powerful one too." Mona waited for a few moments for Kokomi to tell her what it was. "Well? What's the damn element?"
"Electro." She stated, Mona groaning once again. Out of all elements, it had to be electro. Mona was very well educated on elements in her world. She knew water and electricity would create chaos. In this world however, it would be a disadvantage for Hydro users. "I hope you know what we're going to get ourselves into."
Kokomi nodded, a smile threatening to spread across her face. "So does that mean I can teach you?" Mona pretended to give it some thought before looking at her best friend, a smirk forming.
"Let's go kick some ass."
