Chapter eight.

I felt as if my head would explode. I said my answer multiple times now the nicest I could but why wasn't the answer getting through everyone's head?

"I am sorry, dean. But I do not want to join any sports, I do not want nor need any kind of sport or practice. I'm sorry coaches, but I just don't want to join. Please understand that."I said, there were five different coaches in front of me, in my living room at nine o'clock in the morning. The dean had escorted them here unexpected and had cornered me in the living room, while most likely demanding I join sports.

"In all my years of teaching, I have never saw anyone excel the way you did. You threw the knives across the room and hit them where you wanted and that rarely happens from that far away. I was settled for it being some sort of fluke until I saw the kickboxing video and then the gymnastics video. You are talented! Your smart and you could be an asset to the team." One man said. Kale walked downstairs and I shook my head.

"Like I said, I'm not interested, thank you though. I will consider all of your propositions that you've compromised. But I know that if I do join some sport, it will only be one or two. I don't want to juggle everything like I did in high school. Now please excuse me, but I was supposed to be leaving about five minutes ago." I said courteously, everyone looked nervous and flitted there eyes around the other coaches, as if they didn't know how to change there mind and have me for themselves, and I refrained from rolling my eyes.

I stood up and walked to kale, just now seeing Cody, kylan and Shawn in the doorway of the kitchen, just watching with amusement.

"You ready?" I asked, which was stupid to ask because it looked as if he was waiting on me, not the other way around. He proved my point when he corked a bushy eyebrow.

"I'm waiting on you, are you ready?" He asked with pure amusement and I glared at him and fixed my socks from falling off my feet and then I slipped on the moccasins that were in my hand. I checked my pockets for my pho- and kale just handed it to me.

Smiling gratefully at him, he just rolled his eyes and pulled me out of the doorway.

"Do you guys wanna come?" I asked and they shook there heads. I shrugged and followed kale out of the door.

"While I'm gonna be here, I think it would be best if I get a new contract on my phone. A new number, new everything." I said and he nodded and looked at me for a moment as we walked, but I kept my head forward not meeting his eyes.

"Do you miss them? Lucas.. Do you miss him even a little bit?" He asked quietly and I looked around the woods we were entering.

"Sometimes I do, ya.. I remember how good he treated me, what he would say before I left his house and when I just showed up.. But I missed that at home to. He did it rarely.. But he did it because to a certain extent, he did care." I said quietly but aloof, and before kale could say anything I continued.

"But I knew he was cheating. We all knew he was, but I was the last one to admit it, because some part of me still actually cared when I wasn't supposed to and that was stupid but I accept that responsibility." I said and he was quiet for a moment as we kept walking in the direction.

" I wouldn't trade up my gift. If I didn't have it, I don't know where I'd be. If I didn't see the hope or fear or anything out of someone's aura, I would of lost everything I held dear to me, and we wouldn't of been best friends. Feeling the pain and hurt of other people, keeps me on the brink of reality and that is the best thing. So if I had a chance to trade up, I wouldn't." He said, I instantly knew he was referring to yesterday morning when we were laying down in the parks grass.
