TODAY WAS DIFFERENT. Today was the day of Will Byers' funeral. Even if Jules and Jonathan aren't on the best speaking terms, she was still welcome to go. And as for Ty, he went because his father wanted him to be there.
When Jules found out about El the day before, she went shopping for the girl. She got her food and a couple pants and shirts but Eleven was too exhausted to change. So, she stayed in Nancy's old dress.
Jules got ready for the funeral, helping Dustin with his tie and all that that a boy his age just doesn't know how to do yet. She was teaching him but he kept spacing out. She just decided to teach him another day. After all, they were burying one of his best friends.
Ty on the other hand was still confused whether or not Will was alive. Hopper said he was alive and that his body was a fake but that's just abnormal. I mean, come on. It's Hawkins. Nothings weird happens here.
Everyone stood around the grave site. All of them mourning in their own special way. The two teenagers stood across each other. They would occasionally accidentally lock eyes but would look away right away.
Jules stood next to Dustin, Mike (his family), and Lucas. The younger Henderson nodded towards a young girl that was crying for Will. Jules narrowed her eyes at him slowly. Luckily, Karen shushed the boy before the older Henderson could. Ty looked up and saw the disapproving look that Jules had pointed at her younger brother. He smiled softly, but not too much seeing as they were at a 12 year old boys funeral.
After the flowers were thrown, Jules guided Dustin to the side.
"Okay." Jules began in a whisper. "One, who was the girl that was crying."
"Jennifer Hayes." He responded.
"Mhm." She mumbled. "Two, tell me more about Eleven before we go to service. Is that what it is?"
"Don't ask me." Dustin shrugged. "I have no clue on how funerals work."
"Right." She nodded.
Meanwhile, Ty was worried about his father. He honestly thought the man was crazy. Jim told the boy that if he had any updates, then he would call him. But he hasn't and that worried him. The Hopper man always kept a promise.

JULES AND TY sat next to each other at a table. They would awkwardly smile at each other and all that jazz but it felt like something was missing.
"So, how are you?" Ty asked slowly and very awkwardly.
"I'm good. How are you?" She asked.
"I'm good." He nodded.
"That's good." She whispered. "Good, good."
"What's Dustin up to by Mr. Clarke?" The Hopper boy asked.
"I have no idea." Jules shrugged, aiming her eyes at her brothers direction. Mr. Clarke was holding a plate, explaining something to the boys. "Uh, how's—." She cleared her throat. "How's your dad?"
"He's doing good. Uh, this whole thing has kind of taken a toll on him. With Joyce and all." He answered. Jules nodded at his response.
Ty wanted to tell her about the fake body so bad, but he couldn't. What if that information put her in danger? He couldn't do that to her. She has a little brother and he don't want to put him in danger too.
Jules on the other hand was trying her best to keep her mouth shut about Eleven. She doesn't know much about her. Of course, she made Dustin tell her more about the girl, but even then, he didn't tell her everything. Dustin liked knowing things that Jules didn't.
Keeping these type of secrets away from each other was difficult.

JULES WENT to the Wheelers house. She wanted to check up on El. She liked the girl and Eleven liked her. They were like sisters to each other.
Jules stood from afar, watching the boys explain something to the young girl. It seemed similar to what Mr. Clarke was explaining to them earlier. They were asking her questions, but Dustin was just pacing around the tiny table that's in the room. She ended up getting bored and walked up the stairs to go home.
"I'll pick you up later!" She yelled. "Bye Mrs. Wheeler." She told the woman that was in the kitchen.
"Bye Jules." Karen smiled. "I'll take good care of him."
"I know you will." She smiled in return.

JULES MADE the big decision to call Ty when she got home. She was nervous of what he would say or if he just wouldn't pick up at all, but he did.
When Ty got home, he scrambled to fix up the trailer. Who knows what his father did but it had to do with something electrical. So when he heard the phone ringing, he was glad that he fixed it.
"Hello?" Ty answered.
"Hey." Jules smiled. "How are you? After the funeral and all."
"I'm good. But I feel like I should be asking you that." He laughed. "You we're closer to Will."
"Oh, no." Jules sat down on her bed. "I'm doing great." It was silent on the line for a few seconds before Jules spoke up again. "Uh, Ty?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you feel like we're missing out on something?" She asked. "I feel like everyone is hiding a secret from us."
"I mean, sort of." He shrugged with a sigh. "Maybe it's better that way though."
"Yeah." She let out a laugh. "Maybe. Bye, Ty."
"Bye," He paused, clearing his throat. "Jules."
Jim eventually got back, making a phone call to someone. It seemed like it was Ty and Sarah's mother. And right when the older Hopper was about to leave, the phone ran again.
