in which Marinette and Adrien attend a Halloween party as their miraculous-swapped heroes (Ladynoire and Mister Bug) and play a game of truth and dare

Marinette sits slouched over her sowing machine, pushing the black fabric under the moving needle. "I can't believe I forgot all about Adrien's Halloween party, Tikki," she whined to her kwami as she raced to finish her last-minute costume. "I've been so busy with school, working in the bakery, babysitting, designing Jagged Stone's next album cover—not to mention being Ladybug."

"You're so creative, Marinette, I'm sure you can think of a costume before tonight."

"Oh, I already have a costume."

The kwami tilts her head. "You do?"

Marinette peeks back. "At first, I thought about just going as Ladybug, but that seemed risky—not to mention lazy—so I decided to go as Cat Noir instead. Well, Ladynoire."

"As in your other hero identity when you and Cat Noir swapped miraculous?"

The designer nods. "Yup."

"You don't think that's risky?" Tikki asks.

"Not really," Marinette says. "Everyone dresses up as Ladybug and Cat Noir."

The kwmai sighed. "Yes, but you're dressing up as Ladynoire. What if someone sees you and realizes you look just like her, and boom! They connect the dots."

"That's why my costume will only look slightly like the real deal."

"Mar—"

"Done!" The designer raised her costume and held it against her body. "Looks like a perfect fit."

Marinette stands from her chair and quickly changes, adjusting the latex around her arms and legs. She faces the mirror, carefully pulling out the long, black braid from the plastic bag, and tugs the wig on over the hair-cap. She pins the cat ears in place and steps back.

"What do you think, Tikki?"

"I still think it's risky."

The designer sits on the floor in front of the mirror and grabs her makeup bag. "I have an hour before the party starts, so that gives me enough time to do my makeup."

Tikki floats over and sits on her holder's knee, watching quietly as the designer moves through concealer, mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner. "Doesn't that bother your eyes?"

"Not really," Marinette answers, brushing blush across her cheeks. She pauses and stares at herself. "Hmm... something's missing..."

"Mar—"

"Ah! The contacts and the mask." As the designer stands, the kwami falls off and lands in a pile of fabric scraps. "Whoops! Sorry, Tikki."

The red bug shakes her head. "It's okay, Marinette."

The Guardian stands close to the mirror, focusing as she carefully puts the contacts in. She blinks and her eyes are green. She slips on the mask and smiles at herself. "Perfect."

"Umm..." Tikki tilts her head, reminding her, "I thought you said your costume would only look slightly like the real deal."
