This was Mikasa first Christmas since being recused by Levi.
She wasn't sure what a Christmas on camp would be like but she knew anything would be better than the Christmas she spent as a sex slave.
In fact, she was a little bit nervous but still rather looking forward to Christmas.
She knew she survived hell and like the past few years, she hated Christmas.
But this year, she had a reason to love Christmas once again.
She was given a home.
Her freedom.
She was given a family.
She was given a place to belong, a place where she was happy.
She didn't need no gifts from Santa this year nor did she hold any wishes for him because she had everything she wanted already.
She just wanted to keep it.
And, as she watched Levi roll his eyes over all the drunken captains and commander inside his office, she knew she was going to keep her happy ending.
Levi didn't just save her that night, he gain her a future.
Even if her future might be a bit rocky by stopping her saviour from murdering his drunken comrades that took up badly dancing on his coffee table and sofa.
She could rather enjoy this form of torture a little bit longer.
And she prayed that Santa knew she sent her thanks for not taking her life all those years she begged him to. Because in the end, he ended up giving her the perfect Christmas present in the end.
One she'd never give up or reject.
