Since this story is based off my first nuzlocke of a Pokémon game, altered to make the Pokémon giant anthros for the story, I figured I might as well list the rules I use at the beginning so that any true nuzlockers don't get confused.
I used the basic rules of a nuzlocke plus a few popular variants and additions to the rules.
1. I can only catch one Pokémon per route/new area and it has to be the first Pokémon I encounter on that route.
2. I have to name each Pokémon to get more attached to them.
3. If any of my Pokémon faints, then they are considered dead and can no longer be used.
4. The Nuzlocke does not begin until I get Pokéballs. (This way I can actually catch a Pokémon on Route 1 since we don't get Pokéballs till we deliver the parcel to Professor Oak.)
5. Dupes Clause: If the first Pokémon I encounter is a Pokémon I already have or in the same evolutionary line as a previous Pokémon, I can keep searching that route or area till I encounter a new Pokémon.
6. Set Battling: I play on Set Mode and not Switch.
7. Shiny Clause: If I ever come across a shiny Pokémon, I'm allowed to catch and use it regardless if I have already caught a Pokémon on that route. (I doubt that I'd find one.)
8. Static Pokémon, Event Pokémon, and Gift Pokémon can be used. So, I can revive fossils, get in game trades (if I have the right Pokémon), and use static encounters on the overworld like the legendary Pokémon. However, I doubt I will use a Legendary Pokémon, unless I got to a point where I lost a bunch of Pokémon.
