Good God, wherever she was, it was bright.

Not even the days on the blackened sea were this white!

Azrael: Someone...turn that light off...

She only just woke up, but her senses were always acute, and she heard someone moving around in the room. Her eyes slowly adjusted, and when she could see without hurting herself, she saw a mop of pink in front of her.

Azrael: Who...

?: You're awake now...goodness, you gave everyone a scare

Azrael: Who're...?

?: I'm Vestal, and I'm sure you know me from the future right?

Azrael: No...not really

She slowly sat up in bed, and since Vestal wasn't stopping her, she guessed it was alright to do so.

Azrael: I'm guessing the infirmary?

Vestal: Yes, from what I've been told, you were found in a state of panic after scalding hot coffee splashed onto your legs. You weren't responding to anyone and when Bismarck tried snapping you out of it...

Vestal sighed and sat down, looking at Azrael.

Vestal: In her words at least..."She looked at me like I was dead already, and what she saw was a ghost"

...

Vestal: Tell me...just what happened to you?

Azrael:*sigh* I would like to say too much, but that won't help you

Vestal: It won't, but it's a start. The first thing I'm going to say is that you're suffering from quite a severe bit of PTSD, possibly Schizophrenia as well, and that alone may be undermining it

She reached over to the end of the bed, where a clipboard sat as well as a pen.

Vestal: Mental issues are, after all, still unexplored for shipgirls. The physical ones are nearly the same as humans, only involving a more of a "ship" approach to the situation

...

Vestal: Tell me Azrael, did you see everything as if you were there? Or did your mind simply say you were there?

Azrael: It...it was the first one. I felt like I was back there, fighting to defend what was left and...it's where I lost both my sister a-and my legs...

Vestal: Then I guess I can prove that theory correct, to a degree at least

Azrael took a deep breath, before looking over to the nurse.

Azrael: Which one?

Vestal: It's on why it felt so real. Your black box might be collecting all the "data" which in shipgirl sense would be memories. Then this attack you had over at the diner may have been a perfect recall of the events simply because of it being recorded by your box

...

Azrael: My...black box?

Vestal: It's the prevailing theory...but enough of that

She stood from the chair, putting a hand out for Azrael to grab.

Vestal: You're fully responsive, and through this whole conversation you've been keeping track and your body seems fine. I'm giving you a clean bill and setting you loose, alright?

Azrael: Got it...thank you Vestal, it's nice to have an actual doctor for a change

Vestal: Let me guess, field medical work?
