CHAPTER Three

I ignore his stares walking to an empty seat with Austen following closely. It's surprising I know someone's name in this new school and on my first day at worst, normally I don't know anyone's name till like a week or so cause I keep to myself and also they can't handle my coldness which I don't care about cause it's what I want.

Austen sits beside me while Mason is behind us with a female partner. I rest my head on the table since the teacher hasn't arrived yet. If I knew Mason is attending this school I would never have come here....I sigh not like I care anyway.

"Why did you get a transfer when you're in your final year" Austen asks then he quickly adds "Just asking cause it's rare for students to transfer in their final year"

I sigh at his attempt to get to know me. I don't want this, I don't want to get to know people. I'd only get hurt at the end and for what I know myself comes first.

I lift my head up to look at him "Why did come to sit with me" I ask instead

"Cause as far as I can see this was the only seat left" he tells me

I turn to look around to see he's right then my eyes meets Mason's. I look away immediately then the teacher walks in.

The next periods passed okay and I made sure to not sit with Austen or anywhere close to Mason. It's lunch time now and I feel my head spin at the thought of being around so much people at the cafeteria.

I walk in regardless, on my tray I got myself chips with ketchup and a yogurt to go with it. I walk to an empty table with a little smile and I'm smiling cause it's empty.

I settle on it and start eating. Soon someone drops a tray beside me and I turn to see it's Austen.

"Hi it isn't so pleasant to eat alone" he says sitting beside me

"I do find it extremely pleasant" I tell him continuing with my chips

"That's why I'm more curious about you" he says eating his pizza

I look at him for a while watching him eat then I look away "you shouldn't be"

Two more trays joined our table, I look up to see Mason and the girl that has been his partner all day. They sit across us.

"Hey I'm Leslie" she introduces with a smile. Leslie seems to be close to Mason then what does Mason still want with me he moved on and I did same.

"Aranya" I simply tell her

"Hmm I bet is a Chinese name but you don't look like a citizen from there" she points out

I sigh knowing another person still on my first day. "Yes I'm not. My mom loves the name so she named me it"

"Hey Austen didn't think I'd find you here" she turns to Austen while Mason just finds my face quite interesting to look at

"Yh no practice now" he tells her

"Mason I didn't know you'd like to sit here" Austen says which finally takes Mason's attention away from me to look at Austen

"I'm here cause of her" Mason says looking at me again. Austen looks surprised while Leslie doesn't seem to be bothered by what he said

I look at him unsure of his statement "By that you mean?"

"I'm here to see you and we need to talk" he states this time Austen is looking at me

"I don't think there's anything to talk about"

The siren goes up signifying lunch is over. I stand up and walk away. I walk to the hallway it's empty cause it's just lunch over and I'm the first to leave the cafeteria.

"Aranya" I hear Mason call he take my hands putting me to a stop

I turn to him removing my hand from his hold "what's the problem" I demand keeping my arms in akimbo

"I know you have every reason to be upset but I never had feelings for Lily and we aren't betrothed anymore." He protests

"Look I don't care anymore, I don't want anything to do with you and I don't trust you" I say

Immediately I said my last words I caught a glimpse of the pained look in his eyes. He left me for Lily back then if I let him in again he'd leave me like everyone does and I don't even know how to let him in cause I've forgotten how to do that I'm only good at pushing people away.

"She said she doesn't want anything to do with you"

I turn to see Austen coming to stand beside me looking at Mason

Mason only keeps his eyes on me, he takes a step closer to me. "Your words darling can't change my yearning heart, we'd go from the very beginning" he says it close to my ear in a soft whisper and walks away

I scoff feeling annoyed. He should bring it on let's see if I'd run back to him.....such an arrogant moron.

"Are you alright" Austen asks beside me

"I'm good very good" I tell him straightening up "I need to use the restroom now" I say walking away from him.

After the little incident with Mason time passed fast and it's time for me to go home. I really can't express how happy I am to get away from this place.

I press a button on my car key to waken up my car. I open the car door about to get in

"Hey Aranya" I hear Austen call, I turn to him "See you tomorrow"

"Sure" I tell him and enter the car, I close the car door and sigh "it's good be back here in my car" I tell myself putting the car into drive.

I walk into the house welcoming the familiar feeling. I walk straight to my room since mom's not back yet. I fall on my bed looking at the ceiling while my mind is disturbed. I sit up thinking of Mason's words. I don't know how I feel right now but deep down I feel happy a bit to see him again but no matter what things can't go back to how it was, that Aranya died long ago.

I remove my uniform completely, walking into the bathroom to shower and it lasted long cause I need it. I walk into my closet to pick a simple gown to wear and I wore it.

My phone beeps on my nightstand, I walk to it to see a text from an unknown number
>I'm at your door<

I look at the text feeling confused. Who's this and this person is at my door. I walk out of my room with my phone in my hands heading to the door. I open it to see him.....Mason

I put my hands in akimbo looking at him "How did you get my number and address"

"The school file" he smirks at me

I scoff of course only him can be so sneaky "What do you want"

"This is not a way to treat a guest" he points out

"Are you keeping a guest out?" I hear mom ask as she alights her car with her cheerful smile "Come on in dear Aranya finally has a guest" she says pulling him in along with her

He turns to wink at me. I frown closing the door "Mom he's not my guest and I have no business with him" I protest

Mason gasps dramatically "Oh you didn't. We have an assignment together remember don't tell me you forgot we're partners"

I open my mouth in amazement at his lie. What an asshole.

"You have to do your assignment Aranya, you can't forget this things now you guys should go upstairs while I fix something" mom says walking away

"You dimwit we have no group assignment" I rasp when I was sure mom's out of sight

"You're welcome. I helped you fulfil your wish of wanting to spend time with me"

I scoff running my hands in my hair "I can see you've gone completely insane"

He walks to the stairs "where's your room, you don't want your cover blown do you"

"You mean your cover" I correct annoyed, I walk passed him to my room he follows me closely.

This is not how I want things to turn out why is he walking back into my life.....
