CHAPTER Five
Time passed by fast and I spent most of it having classes with Austen while I didn't fail to notice Mason's prying eyes, he has been watching me all day. Now I'm home preparing for my outing with Austen I wonder where he wants to take me.
I clad myself in a jean and a T-shirt wanting to look as casual as ever cause my wardrobe has mostly expensive clothes in it. Mom would be thrilled to find out I'm finally going out.
I walk out of my room trying to find where she is then I walk down the hallway realizing where she should be.
"Mom I'm going out now I don't think I'd be back late" I tell her in one of the rooms she reserved as her office
"What? Did you just say you're going out" she says with a smile crawling on her face
I simply nod "With Austen"
"Finally you're living a life!" She exclaims
"It's just this time I don't think it would be often" I tell her then I frown at her earlier statement "living a life? Wasn't I living a life before"
"Oh of course you were" she waves me off with sarcasm dripping in her voice
"I'd be back soon" I say leaving
"Take your time sweetheart" she calls after me.
I walk out of the house, I turn to look at my car. Nope I won't take it my house isn't far from the town I'd be meeting Austen so I decide to walk.
Getting to the meeting point Austen is standing there when his gaze meets mine he smiles walking towards me
"You are here" he smiles
I smile not letting it reach my eyes and nod
"Let's walk there we'd use my car when coming back" he tells me
"Sure"
We start walking down the road. It didn't take long for us to get there to my surprise we'd be taking a boat. We walked to where the boats are arranged
"Don't tell me I'm entering the boat" I say watching him try to set the boat free
"Sure we are" he looks up at me
I shake my head in disaffirm " I can't I'm scared of drowning " I hate the thought of drowning and I never want to know how it feels to drown
Austen shakes his head laughing at my outburst "You're not drowning, we're just going to sail round a bit and it's safe if you trust me"
"Just? It won't be 'just' if I fall into that water" I let out looking at the river
"Come on the weather is very friendly today so nothing would go wrong I promise even if it does I'm here...."
"It mustn't" I interject which he simply laughs at and I wonder what's funny cause my life is much precious to me.
He sets the boat and enters it, he stretches his hands to me which I take after so much deep breaths.
He gives me a paddle while he use the other. We start paddling, I smile as we move to the middle of the lake. It's quite fun, I look at Austen to catch his gaze he's staring at me like I'm something interesting to look at. I look away from him to look at the water.
"You like it?" He asks
"Of course it nice" I tell him
"Lets stop paddling for now since we're at the center" he says and i stop paddling "So why didn't it work out with you and Mason" he asks starting a conversation
