s1 : convention

The group got together to go to the witches convention, which would tell them more about all the different types of covens. Eda used magic to pull Willows hood over her head and said "let's just get this over with." as they walked in.

Luz was very excited. The five were walking around and Willow was telling Luz about all of the smaller covens. Eda huffed and then Willow made the joke, "There's also the grumpy coven." They all laughed and ran off when Eda said something. Willow told Luz about the construction coven. The illusion coven showed Luz her reflection and Luna laughed at how surprised Luz was. Gus stood next to the illusion coven and started doing some magic. Luz was so surprised. "Eda why didn't you join one?" she asked. "Watch closely, Luz. When you join a coven, all of your other magic is sealed away. From now on, that kid can only be able to make illusions. Since I never joined a coven, I can do any type of magic." Edna informed everyone. Luna sighed.

Luz, Eda, and Luna watched the empire's coven display. principal bump talked about the coven and how great it was. Principal bump said "only the best can ascend these ranks. Someday that can be one of you!" Amity thought he pointed to her but turns out bump pointed to Luna. Luna blushed and Amity turned red. She was so embarrassed. Willow turned around and smiled at Luna. Eda laughed at Amity as Luna shushed her. Lilith showed up and Eda gasped. "You know her?" Luz asked. "You could say that.." Eda said. "Mysterious past!" Luz and Luna said at the same time. Then they both laughed.

Luz and Luna were walking together but they were staring at a book so they ended up bumping into Amity. "Watch where your- oh. It's you two." Amity snarled, "Willows abomination thing and the worst witch at hexside." "oh what's wrong mittens? Are you mad I'm beating you again?" Luna smiled. "You made me embarrassed! I should have been the one the empire's coven called out! Not you!" Amity sighed. "Hey, Amity! So funny story... I'm not an abomination. Sorry for the confusion last week! I'm Luz, the human. Hi!" Luz brought her hand out and Amity smacked it away. "Put that away. You're the one who got me in trouble with principal bump and I never get in trouble." Amity angrily started to walk away but the two other girls followed her. "Well to be fair, you were okay with him trying to dissect me so" Luz replied. "You can't be here! This convention is for witches only." amity rose her hands to prove to Luz. "Well, I'm learning how to be a witch! I'm getting magic lessons from a powerful witch and a ferocious demon." Luz told Amity and Luna nodded. "Is that your ferocious demon there?" Amity turned her head to reveal king with a cupcake running towards them. King tripped and dropped his cupcake. Luz and Luna bent down to help him up, Amity stepped on King's cupcake "oops, that was an accident." Luna sighed. "Why are you being so mean Amity?" Luz said. "Give it a rest Luz, she doesn't have time to be nice to people." Luna looked over to the side and Amity looked at her with disappointment. She wanted to be friends. She really really wanted to be friends again. "I'll tell you what Amity, it's one thing to say I can't be a witch, but it's another thing to bully my friends." Luz stood up to Amity and Luna blushed. Amity fell silent again. She was jealous of Luz. Luz made a good witch Azura reference and then challenged Amity to a witches duel. Everyone in convention gasped. "Luz! you cant do that! let me do it with you!" Luna stood up and put her hand on Luz's shoulder. "no you can't! this is between me and Amity. Plus you are a way better witch than me! I have to prove myself!" Luz said as Amity walked up to her. "I accept!" Amity said. Amity and Luz went over the terms of the duel. Amity said that if she won, Luz would have to stop being a witch forever. Luna got worried. She knew that Amity plays dirty. Amity used a spell to seal their oath. Amity started waking away but Luna went up to her and grabbed her shoulder, "Amity, you've lost your mind. She's a human, don't kill her. For me?" Amity sighed and agreed. Luna smiled at Amity, and for the first time in years, amity smiled back ever so slightly.

An hour later it was time for their duel. Lilith introduced Amity. people were shouting for her and shouting for Luna. Luna ran over to Gus and Willow. Willow grabbed onto Luna's hand and squeezed it tight. They were worried for Luz. the fight went on, and it was revealed that Eda cheated. "I believe this means you lose!" Lilith smiled. "It wasn't my idea to cheat! and when I found out I tried to stop it but-" Amity cut Luz off "who would believe anything you say?!" Amity walked away and Eda saw the construction sticker on the back of her neck. Eda exposed her and Lilith had to reveal something. "I'm sorry but Amity is not who I hoped was my pupil. I didn't believe in her..." Lilith sighed as Luna gasped. "Amity wait!" Luz tried to stop Amity but she ran away. Luna and Luz ran off after her.

Luna saw Amity first. She was in the corner with her knees up to her chest. "Amity I'm so sorry. I know you wouldn't cheat." Luna walked up to her, and Luz followed behind. "I'm sorry too," Luz said. "Seriously? just leave me alone." Amity Huffed. "you have been trying to get rid of me millions of times mittens, but you never will." Luna smiled and sat next to her. Luna placed her head on Amity's shoulder and Amity shook her off. "I didn't mean to embarrass you," Luz admitted. "That's all you ever do! first at school and now this!" Amity sobbed. "yeah but-" Luz said before Amity cut her off "you made me look like a fool in front of the empire's coven!" She looked at Luz and Luna, "My future! you think it's so easy to be a witch. I have been working my entire life to get to the top and it's still not good enough." She looked down. "You lost! You cheated! Say it! Say you're not a witch!" Amity got closer and closer to Luz. "I'm not a witch." Luz looked down in disappointment. She sat down next to Luna and started to show Amity her magic. "But I'm training hard to be one." Luz did her paper magic and a light ball appeared. Amity looked in shock, "That's nothing. A child could do a light spell." The girls moved away from each other and Luna praised Luz. "But I've never seen it cast like that," Amity admitted. Luz explained how being a witch is different since she's a human, so she has to cast things differently. Amity sighed and broke their oath. before Amity could leave, Luna grabbed her arm. "I'm sorry about the coven, I know you've been trying your best. It means more to you, you deserve it. I think you're better than me in every way possible." Luna sheepishly admitted. "really?" Amity lightly smiled and shook her head and then walked away.

King came back and Luna put him on her shoulders. Luna has been spending a lot of time at the owl shack since her parents are rarely home, she's been close to Luz, King, and Eda. Eda told Luz to be her own true witch and Luna nodded. "Now let's go before my sister realizes that I tied her pointing shoes together," Eda said. Lilith screamed and The four left. "sister? now that's a mysterious past payoff!" Luz said. "oh you think that's all of the mystery I've got? wait till you hear about my parents." Eda chuckled. "What?! You have parents? I need to know more!" Luz over-exaggerated her movements and they all laughed.
