You woke up to the sun shining in your eyes, panic would have set in any other day because that would mean you were late to work, but the events from the previous night crept back into your head, confirming it was Saturday.
Saturday was your favorite day of the week, as long as you didn't have a case. You needed the time to reset and take care of yourself mentally. Your weekends were usually all the same. Wake up, coffee, run, groceries, laundry. Pretty much always in that order too.
Walking into your kitchen, you dumped out a glass of water from the night before and put it in the dishwasher. You kept things pretty clean and neat, just so you wouldn't have to catch up on cleaning when you got back from cases. You got out a mug from the cabinet, and poured yourself a cup of coffee from the pot that you scheduled to brew the night before.
You sat on the couch, and flicked through the channels on your tv. Nothing caught your interest and you were done with your coffee, so you figured you might as well start your day. You went into the bathroom to brush your teeth and hair. Then, you got dressed for a quick run. You decided to wear light gray leggings, and a tight white long sleeve. You skipped out on the sports bra, the shirt pretty much did the trick, other than concealing your nipples but you didn't care.
You put your running shoes on, headphones in, and made your way outside, locking your door on the way out. The weather was semi-decent and not too cold, so you decided you would run all the way from your house to your favorite park by headquarters. It wasn't far away but added a little bit more to your Saturday run.
Once you made it to the park, you chose a different path than usual. After making it a good distance, you realized your shoe was untied. You jogged up to a corner to get out of the way and stopped, bending down to tie it. All of the sudden, someone came around the corner and knocked into you, causing both of you to fall, the person landing on top of you. And you could not believe who it was.
Hotch. Again. He was staring. Your heart was pounding so loud he could probably hear it.
"We've really got to stop running into each other, someone is going to wind up hurt." you said shyly, trying to make a joke out of the fact that you have literally bumped into your boss twice now.
"We really do" he said nonchalantly, as he stood up. He reached out for your hand, and helped you to your feet. "You just ran last night and you're already up and running again, is this an everyday thing for you?" he didn't have the same cold demeanor he did last night, or at work.
"Um, yeah. The only time I might skip is if we're on a case late. Otherwise, this is my escape. I just put in head phones and slip into my own little world." you reply.
"Y/N, you know that's not very safe. If you space out, you might be vulnerable to potential threats around you." he said with his eyebrows furrowed.
"Hotch, the point is that I don't want to nor have to worry about potential threats. I just want to get away from the crime side of things for a little bit."
"I understand. I just would hate to see something bad to happen to you, and then I have to find out because your case winds up on my desk."
"Thanks for the concern, but I can fend for myself pretty well. So, what are you doing here anyway? I never took you for much of an athlete" you said while looking him up and down. He was wearing a black long sleeve shirt that was rolled up to his elbows and hugged his biceps perfectly, and black shorts. His thighs were just barely visible from the bottom and they looked pretty toned.
"I uh- I'm trying to do the triatholon in February, so..." he said nervously, almost as if he thought you were judging him.
"You, Aaron Hotchner, are going to do the FBI triatholon? When do you even have time to train other than the weekends?" you said, you were genuinely surprised. He was always at the office it seemed like, later than you at least and you were one of the last out the door most nights.
"Well, I only have about 45 minutes on days I have Jack, a little longer on days without him and weekends. It's hard." he replied, shaking his head. He looked discouraged and you knew you said the wrong thing.
"Well, I'm always free to train with you. I mean, uh-just since were on the same schedule and I'm out running almost everyday. I could even take a break and we could swim or do some cycling together? I have pretty good endurance." you winked. You were rambling and Hotch was laughing at you at this point, but he looked reassured.
"You know Y/N, I was actually going to suggest I could run with you. You could still listen to your music and do your own thing. I'll stay behind. Hell, I probably couldn't keep up with you anyway. Just to make sure one of my agents is safe. It's a win win." he said, this time he was rambling.
You shook your head yes as you both laughed. "Well, do you wanna start now?" you asked. He agreed and you put your headphones back in and bent down to finally tie your shoe. You looked up at him and said "just don't be weird about running behind me. Someone might think you're a stalker." then you took off.
Hotch ran at a steady pace about five feet behind you the whole time. He probably could have ran alongside you but he knew you just wanted to listen to music. You were pretty sure you felt his eyes burning into your ass quite a few times. And it was confirmed that he was looking when you would peak over your shoulder and see his eyes flick up quickly to meet yours.
You just smirked and kept going. It didn't bother you at all. If you were running behind him, you would probably be staring at his ass too.
About 45 minutes later, you decided to stop once you made it back to the entrance of the park. You didn't want to wear Hotch down too early on. "I actually ran here so I'm going to head home. It was kind of nice to feel protected, I think I was able to get out of my head a little more than usual with you here." you smiled at him.
"You know, Y/N, I could give you a ride home. If I remember correctly, your house is on the way to mine."
"Actually, that would be great, I'm dying for a shower and I still have to go get . I don't think I could get home soon enough." you replied.
You got into the passenger seat of his car. You started to cool down from your long run, and realized your nipples were poking through your shirt. Hotch got in the driver seat and his eyes met yours, then immediately went to your chest. You began to question if he was actually checking you out, the same battle you had in your head the night prior.
You couldn't dwell on it too long. At least not in this moment. You folded your arms quickly across your chest to cover yourself up. He placed his hand on the back of your seat and turned around to grab something from behind you.
Now you were staring at him. The way his shirt hugged his torso. It slip up a little bit, revealing the waist band of his underwear. You wondered what he looked like with his shirt off. And you thought you noticed a slight erection in his pants, but you were pretty sure your eyes were playing tricks on you.
You suddenly snapped out of it when he handed you a big dark green zip up sweatshirt. You just smiled at him and started to put it on. "Uh, I'm pretty cold so I figured you were too." he said awkwardly.
"I'm definitely chilly. Thanks Hotch." you replied.
"Since we're going to be seeing more of each other, you can call me Aaron. At the office, I'd stick to Hotch just so we're not scrutinized by the rest of the team. But when it's just me and you, Aaron is fine."
