i was walking out the school gate, still stirred up. im not a squeamish person around blood, but i couldnt get an image out of my head. it was someone that looked identical to myself, just with the blood from earlier smeared on its face. anytime i imagine it, i go all dizzy and feel like im about to pass out. it was scary, well more terrifying, but scary works. while i was waiting for ryujin at the gate, i saw heeseung walking over to me. he took out his phone and started to translate whatever he was saying ''so how was your first day?'' i think he expecting at least a bit of enthusiasm, but when i just sighed his face dropped. ''can you at least tell me what happened?''i looked at him before grabbing his bag strap and pulling him with me. we ended up at the path and i pointed down to the bottom of the path before grabbing his phone and speaking into it.''heeseung, what do you see?'' he stood looking down there, kinda confused.''i see a small cottage with trees around it'' when the siri like voice spoke, i widened my eyes.''maybe im not crazy'' i muttered to myself.i then grabbed his bag again and stood on the path. i instantly felt him tense up, feeling the difference. i pointed.''whats there now?''
he gulped.
''everything has changed.. the house is old and there is someone down at the bottom''
i was speechless. ryujin definitely wasnt lying when she said she couldnt see it, but how could heeseung. i turned to talk to him when i noticed something. the blood. it was dripping onto my face again. when i realised what it was, i quickly wiped it off onto my finger. the blood ran from my finger to the plants below my hand, but it wouldnt stop, as if it was infinite. heeseung was just staring at me, as if i was crazy. he was ready to translate something when we heard what seemed to be running, coming from the bottom of the path. the girl. she was running at us. but i couldnt run. neither could heeseung. feeling the stiffness, heeseung grabbed my hand and held onto me. i closed my eyes as he did the same, it would be less terrifying. the running died down, until i could feel a presence right infront of me, but i kepy my eyes closed. after a few seconds, my cheek was wet, and it made me open my eyes. the cottage. it was completely gone. now there looked to be a fountain. the water spilled out of it so gracefully i almost got lost in it. and the sounds of birds chirping added to unrealism to it. i held onto heeseung and started to pull him with me, causing him to open his eyes. we sat at the edge of the fountain and just took a while to breath.
''why did holding your hand get rid of her?''
''Who?'' a voice came from behind us. my instant reaction was to grab heeseung and run but before i could the voice spoke again.
''im sorry if i startled you guys, its just i never get visitors. why dont you guys co-''
she was speaking before she looked both of us properly in the eyes.
''you too look very familiar. ohh wait, you are the people that bought the fountain a few days ago, arent you?''
me and heeseung looked at each other, confused.
''sorry m'am, we have never been here before'' heeseung spoke.
''oh. im almost completely sure i was talking to you guys and you both told me about your plans to build an orchard to live in. are you sure youve never been here before?'
the orchard. me and heeseung both widned our eyes to each other.
'' ohhhh yeah, thats us. could you tell us more about the place?'' i may be a shit liar, but she never seemed to notice.
'' well around he is prominent for murders so make sure to watch out, sometimes the fountain can overflow but not very often, and this place can be a very nice place for children'' she smirked a bit before returning to her cheerful face. weird
''oh ok thank you m'am, we better get going'' we bowed and made our way back up the path. as soon and we exited, we both stopped holding hands and breathed again.
''whats going on?''
i just shook my head.
''i dont know, but we are going to find out''
