[What does a wild beast do when its life is in danger and its back against the wall? Does it cower in fear or does it fight for its life?]

In the endless expanse of space in a quadrant unknown to man, a barrier field of immense energy trembled violently as entities from all corners of the galaxy assembled within its space. A point in reality designated for the gathering of the eternal council. A meeting of beings made of pure energy with an intrinsic link to the Conscionic Pool. These meetings have determined the course of the galaxy for eons directly and indirectly affecting the inhabitants that exist within their domain. Thousands of Conscionic Entities took their places amongst their respective ranks, forming a constellation circle with 5 lines meeting the center, where a smaller circle formed. In the center of this formation existed the core of the eternal council, which consists of 4 lesser Elders and the Great Elder.

"PRESENT YOURSELVES!" A thunderous voice boomed within the constellation.

"First Elder Ashar of the Light Realm at your summons Great Elder."

"Second Elder Virion of the Void Realm at your summons Great Elder."

"Third Elder Arfin of the Thought Realm at your summons Great Elder."

"Fourth Elder Nhajan of the physical Realm at your summons Great Elder."

The barrier field remained silent for a moment after the elders confirmed their attendance, then a brilliant light engulfed the field stabilizing bubble signaling that the Great Elder was satisfied and that the meeting has commenced.

"Second Elder Virion. You have petitioned this gathering. State your reason." the Great Elder commanded.

"I have petitioned this meeting because I have found a possible solution to protect us from the great drift." Virion said with the utmost confidence.

Immediately conversation erupted as all the Entities of the different factions present with the exception of Virion's Void faction could not believe what they had just heard. The possibility to stop the great drift has long since been a sought-after dream of the Conscionic Entities. A dream that manifested itself when it was discovered that the rate at which they were slowly drifting back to the Conscionic Pool was increasing in comparison to that of new Entities being born. The Conscionic Pool, the very source of consciousness, the energy that governs the universe itself was on a path leading their species to extinction if the trend continued. If there truly was a way to remain in the physical dimension with their sense of self fully intact, then this proposition from Virion would be too enticing to pass up. Virion expected that his proposition would surely garner interest from the members of the council.

"Silence!" The Great Elder commanded.

"Virion! Do you have any idea what you are suggesting?" Ashar of the Light Realm interjected.

"Why of course Ashar. I am suggesting salvation for our dying species and more so I am suggesting Godhood, true immortality."

Whispers of godhood and true immortality began to spread like wildfire amongst the council members and their retainers.

"And at what cost? Because surely if we could we would have done so already." Ashar asked with a hint of disdain in his voice.

Virion smirked and then directed his attention back to the entire council in an effort to dismiss Ashar's questioning.

"In the last couple centuries, It has come to my attention that the humanoid mortals that call themselves 'humans' are showing signs of a heightened connection to the Conscionic Pool."

Laughter erupted amongst the thousands of Entities within the barrier field. The very concept of mortals possessing a higher connection to the pool was ridiculous in every sense.
