Kopaka wields a ice blade and a shield/gun with great skill and precision.
Kopaka commands the black ice star which is in its own dimension of ice and dwarfs. Black ice is the most dangerous form of ice however unlike black fire or lava their is no other black form. However kopaka can control black ice to a great extent and uses it in every way possible. Kopaka had a relationship with a unknown mortal who passed away after giving birth to their son chira. Kopaka is seen as ice cold and the general of the toa. He bows to no-one and has a strong personality fitting a leader but one thing stands in his way.
Kopaka has in the past tried to overthrow tahu after tahu punished chaira. In a act of rage kopaka ended the fire phoenix and thinking of himself more powerful then tahu without his beast challenged his brother to a battle with the help of most other elemental toa kopaka nearly won. However tahu with help from others gained victory.
Kopaka is headstrong and like his brother a natural leader and has a long memory. He has only one son chaira who is very strict with but also deeply cares about.
