~Kat's POV~
"I had no choice," Draco's voice is soft, like silk, as I run my fingers over the Dark Mark again. It had a been since Draco confessed his feelings for me. It was quite romantic and so much more pleasant than the books will ever describe. "I had to do something to fix what my father messed up. No one will tell me though, what he failed to do."
His silk sheets are wrapped over my bare body, covering my chest. My leg is crooked over the sheets resting on Draco's own legs. I had been pestering Draco to tell me what the task he had been assigned to do, but every time he shut me down. But I was persistent.
"If you would just tell me what I can do...to help," I gulp. I know what he's been assigned to do. I just want him to put his trust in me.
"Kat, we've been over this," he sighs pulling his arm away from me. "You can't help me."
"This is shitty," I sigh, looking up at the ceiling. "If you would just let me in..."
"Katrina," Draco's voice is stern. "The moment I figure out how you can help, I'll let you know, but until then, please drop it."
He kisses my bare shoulder before placing his arm across my torso. I know what he's hiding. I know why he's keeping it from me. And the reality of facing the facts soon scares me.
"Is that why you quit Quidditch? Because of the task?" I ask, sitting up clutching the sheets to my frame.
"Yes," Draco looks at me, his fingers glide against my back- his eyes guy for more.
"Such a shame, really," I sigh sarcastically. "I would have loved to have a Quidditch boyfriend..." I look at Draco over my shoulder, trying my best to stifle a giggle.
"Is that so?" Draco quirks a brow up before biting the inside of his lip. "I think I can probably throw my jersey back on..."
"No, it has to be this year or it doesn't count, Dray." The look Draco gives me could kill, but I merely laugh at his pouting.
"Slughorn's invited me to his Christmas party," I finally say. I had been invited long before, but the party had been pushed to the back of my mind. "I want you to come."
"I wasn't invited," Draco's ring stings against my warm skin.
"I'm inviting you now, idiot." I say, tossing a pillow over his face.
"We'll see," Draco says casually.
"Is it because you're a werewolf? That's the latest rumor going around about you..."
"A werewolf?" He quizzes.
"I think Seamus started that actually. But it doesn't help that you were seen Fenrir Greyback before term."
"He's an old family friend, Kat..."
Silence.
"I want you to come home with me for Christmas," Draco sits up and kisses my shoulder blade. "Mum wants to meet you properly."
"You two talk about me?" I ask, popping my brows up. My heart flutters as Draco blushes.
"I sent a couple owls or so mentioning you..." Draco whispers. "Is that...alright?"
I turn my body and kiss Draco fully. His mouth tastes of mint and fire whiskey.
"Yes, of course."
"So you'll come?"
"I'm actually going to my Aunt's for Christmas..." I start, but Draco rests his head on my shoulder and sighs loudly.
"But I can come afterwards. If you'll still have me." Draco lifts his head and has a smile spreading ear to ear.
