Bakugo
I was finally back in class after my house arrest was over and I did nothing but grind to catch up last Friday. Its Monday now and class was back to normal.
Sometime during the day, Mr. Aizawa mentioned a new assignment. "Now that all of you are aware of the work studies coming up soon, there will be specific training we will focus on. Our summer camp training was meant to focus on improving your quirks for the License Exam, however it was cut short, as you all remember."
Don't fucking remind me.
"So to continue our focus on your quirks for your upcoming work studies, we will be training in partnered projects each week for this month. You won't be partnered with everyone because of the short amount of time, and no, you don't pick your partners."
The class moaned in protest. Fucking wimps.
"The partners will be chosen by myself. Your goal is to create 2 special moves with your partner's quirk by combining them together with your own. One offense, one defense. You will have 2 class periods to work with each other during the week, so find time after class to practice. Write a 5-page report on your teamwork and special moves. Due Friday at the beginning of class."
He clicked a button for the projector and all our names were displayed on the board. I didn't give a shit to memorize any of the other pairs, only my own.
Bakugo & Uraraka
Uraraka?? Well, shit. Alright. I actually don't mind that.
I glanced over at my shoulder at her and she looked nervous. Why? It's not a fight.
"You have the rest of the period to speak with your partner about strategies." Our teacher said. "This time is yours."
Everyone started getting up and relocating in the room. I pretty much just switched seats with four-eyes. I leaned one arm over her desk while making myself comfortable. She still looked nervous.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing." She said, looking down at her piece of paper.
"Whatever." I put my chin in my hand, bored.
"So, one offense, one defense." She was writing it down. "Let's go over our quirks!" Her face lit up, all back to normal. "My quirk is zero gravity, so I can choose the amount of gravity to take away from things by touch. You can make explosions from your palms with your sweat."
She looked up to the ceiling as she thought.
"Should we think of an offensive move first? You're a front-line fighter, with a lot speed, range, and power..."
"You sound like Deku." I wanted to throw up.
She giggled. "He's good at analyzing quirks, that's for sure! I guess I've picked up on a few tricks!"
I said under my breath, "Not good enough."
"Hmm?" Her big, wondering eyes were on me.
I smirked, "Back to how great of a fighter I am."
She rolled her eyes, "Don't let that go to your head, Mr. Ego. I'm just comparing you to myself in fighting styles."
"I'm the best at all of them. You're a close-combat fighter." I said.
"I can move in the air." She mentioned.
"So can I." I stated, unimpressed.
"Wait a second," she pointed at me. "During our sports festival match, you were pretty solid on the ground. You didn't use any airborne mobility until after that."
"Well, duh. You're the reason I practiced flying around." I said, obviously.
She blinked. "What?"
"During that match, I kept you at bay because I knew if you got one touch on me, I was finished. But that's only because I was new at off-ground movement." I told her. "If we were to have that match again now, there's no possible way you would beat me, even if you made me float. I would blast my way back down."
Her eyebrows furrowed as she nodded, her gaze drifting down.
"Disappointed?" I guessed.
She shrugged. "So... attacks. What are all the attacks you can do with your quirk?"
She was looking down at the paper, doodling circles on the side. I felt a little bad for some reason. Did I make her sad? Shit.
"You've seen 'em all." I said.
She nodded and kept making tiny circles. After a few moments of silence, I turned my chair so it was facing her desk. I reached for the pen, gently taking it out of her hand. She watched the pen as I doodled some flames around her cloud of circles.
"What about you?" I asked, trying to sound sincere. "Got any awesome attack moves I don't know about?"
She shook her head, still watching the pen. "Nothing special. I've kept up my martial arts training, but I'm still working on a lot of that stuff."
"Like what? I've seen you do a few take downs."
"Agility mostly."
"Hmm." I offered the pen back to her. "Spar me tonight."
She took the pen, "Huh? Why?"
"So I can see what you can do."
"Uh," she rubbed the pen in her hands. "I don't know."
"It's for this." I gestured toward the paper. "What's the problem?"
She looked at me and said, "There's no problem." She smiled with determination. "Let's spar."
