CHAPTER 6: KICKBACK

Uraraka

It's Wednesday. We didn't get to use class time to work on our assignment, and Bakugo has his extra classes tonight. And we still haven't figured out what we are going to do!! Ugh!

I have been thinking a lot about it though. Bakugo's way of fighting has limits in movement because of his blasts. I wonder if I could use my quirk to help him out in some way?

"How about this one?" Mina pointed at the TV screen. "It's a romance!"

While everyone in class was working on their projects, Mina and I decided to watch a movie in her room, since both of our partners were gone. She was partnered with Todoroki and it sounded like they had a ton of ideas for their special moves.

I skimmed the description of the movie. "Okay, and it sounds funny!"

"Cool!" Mina pressed play on the remote and movie began.

"Hey, Mina? Can I ask you something?" I was so nervous.

Her eyebrow raised, "Yeah."

"Have you ever dated someone before?"

She gasped. "Are you dating someone?!"

"No, I just wondering for future reference!" I said.

"A future with who??" She beamed.

"I don't know!" I said honestly. "I just want to start figuring that stuff out so I know what I'm doing when I choose to date."

"Is it Midoriya?" she leaned in, "Or Ida? Or both?"

"Both?! No! Jeez!"

"Come, on! You brought this up before, now you have to tell me who it is!!" She squealed.

My thoughts started shifting toward Deku and Ida all of a sudden. They both have been my closest guy friends all year and I admire how hard they work to become heroes, but I never thought past that because I always had the same goal. It's different with Bakugo. We have history now...

"It's not them!" I accidently blurted out.

"It's someone else??"

"I mean, it's no one!!" I waved my hands about. "Mina, please! I trying to be mature about this!"

She squealed again. "It's just so juicy!! If I tell you my crush, will you tell me yours??"

"He's not exactly a crush..."

"WHO IS IT?!?" She sang, bouncing in her seat.

I slapped my hands over my face and sank down. Maybe if I stay quiet, she'll let it go!

"Aww, Ochako." She giggled and patted my shoulder. "It's okay to have a crush! Here, I'll tell you my crush! It's—"

"Kirishima." We both said.

She laughed. "Yeah! I guess it's not a secret with the girl's group!"

"But Kirishima is a good guy."

"And your crush isn't?" Mina paused. "Don't tell me it's..."

"IT'S NOT MINETA!!" I stated before she jumped to any conclusions.

"EWW!! GROSS!! Ochako, I know you would never go that low! I was going to ask if it was... Bakugo?"

My heart sank when she said his name. She noticed my expression and suddenly got worried.

"I'm sorry," she apologized, "I didn't mean it like that. It's still okay to have a crush on someone, even Bakugo. I just didn't—"

"Shhh!!" I hugged my knees.
